Rest in Peace, Neil Armstrong

by
Neil Armstrong passed away today, of complications from heart surgery he had three weeks ago.

Thank you for your brave and heroic acts in the name of science, Mr. Armstrong. You will be remembered for a long time to come.

Wow... man, I was just thinking about him about two months ago, too. He dealt with holding back the government's secrets for so many years, I hope he's feeling better now that he doesn't have to deal with it anymore.

I can picture it now

"Well Mr.Armstrong...you helped with a lot of tests today, good work. your reward is cake...laced with deadly neurotoxin..."

(this is to make light of something and not to be insensitive or mean, my way of dealing with events such as this is to make a joke)

Then keep the joke to yourself, because you appear insensitive and respectless to others. Claiming that your joke wasn't meant to be seen as such won't help.

And the day before it was Jerry Nelson x.x It's not been a good couple of days for people I admired as a kid.

Aww this is terrible news, someone whos so worldwide known, and an icon for human progression and exploration...
but still less cared about than michael jackson...

I think this should have been a bigger thing,
the passing away of Armstrong.
Legend forever known.

Same here, I listen to news on the radio for so long, and never heard anything about this. I dont think the media concerns itself with anyone who doesnt appeal to teens or younger people, which is why they talk so much more about Lance than Neil.

i think neil was a very important person for the entire time he lived just for what he represented.
realistically, we dont NEED music as humans, we dont really need that,
but as humans we have a natural desire to expand our knowlege and seek things further astride.
neil was really a good man simply for what he dared to do, and what he was a symbol of.
