How you, gays, functioning?

by
Taking a part of recent...um... "discussions", I find out my major lack of knowledge about homosexuals. But since this topic recently...um... taking some part in my works, I can't ignore this matter. So I've been studying (here was picture, but turns out humans not allowed - Heil Inkbunny!), but articles I readed it seems has not full information. So, if you have something to share with me, it would be helpful and I would really appreciate it.

Best not to think about it. Sexual nature of the person has nothing to do with their personality or physic outside of television and movie stereotypes. Just make up the personality and look as you see fit for the character and if they happen to be gay, straight and bi just helps add flavoring to them. Same goes for religion as it can add to how a person might think if properly thoguht out.

Hope this helped =)

ty for help) But i need at least a superficial understanding of the topic. Adding a flavour is easy when it's your original creation, but when it's not - problems start. People come at me and ask for picture, i agree, they say "Draw my char, He's Leo, Name Omgsowittyname, He's Gay". Ofcourse it's easier to just draw some Simba with bag of dicks shoved up its arse, it probably make pervy asker happy. But when it's some nice person who just can't describe what he/she want, i feel myself like total ass =/ And I don't want to play on stereotypes (unless for the laugh), so that's why i'm asking...um... "involved" people.

in that case, I would prolly go look up the common terms of the gay society, like bears and cubs, tops and bottoms, and twinks and see what kind of looks the people associated to those terms are. Then that way, when the person says they are gay, you can ask what kind and if they would.

Example: Bears would be a big burly looking guy, where as the cub(as in a gay term) is the smaller sex partner to the bear and said cub would normaly fit with twink.

Wish i could be more informative. I am basicly bisexual and not active so can't give any real first hand pointers.

Best would be to simply ask the buyer more detailed questions. Most people like that and shows you are wanting to get the job done and make them happy.

On the comment with bears and cubs a better description of a bear would be as you put it a big, burly guy who is hairy. Cub a smaller guy who is also hairy. I think sometime in the summer there is a place in Mass called providence town where the people are prodominately homosexual. My brother, who isn't homosexual. was referred to as a cub so we said " I'm just a cub looking for my bear" which I think is a witty line you might be able to use Grose or "I'm a bear looking for my cub" if you do use this aspect of homosexual culture. Hope this helped.

Cheers

I don't really know where to start. Homosexuality doesn't and shouldn't play a big part on your personality as a whole, but unfortunately the camp gay stereotype is reinforced by most of the entertainment media and parts of the gay community itself (but we're getting better).

It helps that various colors of gay are coming out of the closet in recent years that the old stereotype is starting to collapse, but it will be a while still before it's one of those things you don't pay much attention to in passing.

I'm not quite sure what you are asking, but for me, being gay is just a part of who I am. I like sex with men, and I feel more comfortable around other men than I do women. I suppose I can sometimes be quite feminine, but I've never seen myself act extremely girly or anything either.

good, personal info is great reference. can you, maybe, share a bit more about your "feminine" behaviors?
SergeSkunk
6 years, 3 months ago
Sure, I don't mind sharing a bit more but well, I'd like to preface that whatever I do, is something that really only reflects on myself and not other gay men.

Considering my more feminine behaviors, I suppose...I sometimes squeal with excitement at seeing incredibly cute and adorable things. I am a bit more, emotional than a straight person would be, and I prefer to talk things out, a lot.

If were are speaking in a sexual context, I suppose the most feminine behavior I have, is my desire to be a submissive partner or bottom. Other than that, all I have is my cross-dressing kink.

Thx, but maybe you can add how do you feel/behave around guys (both orientations, preferably), maybe some special way.
If you don't mind, ofcourse.

ps. and please don't answer "as everybody do", b'cause what seems insignificant for you can be what i'm looking for.

I don't act any differently around either straight or other gay men. In either case most straight men assume I'm straight and most gay people assume I'm gay. I've never really been one to be really toward either extreme personality.

If you are asking how to approach gay porn, just ask yourself how the picture would feel if it was a straight couple, and replace the girl with a guy or guy with girl, whatever. Relationships and romance work the same for everyone. On a deeper level, put yourself in the position of both parties. What do they want? What emotion are they communicating? It's not that hard if you aren't leaning on stereotypes.

Thats what i'm doing now, take usual for me romance and add one more male genitalia. But about immersion, i have no idea how approach it, cause i don't know how "receiving end" is supposed to feel. And furthermore, it's became totally different level when char doesn't have...um... "mate" (i have no idea how lone gay-person behave)

Lone gay person acts like a lone straight person trying to look sexy. If it's pin ups you are talking about. You might find the subject distasteful but try looking through some gay and lesbian porn pictures, if that sort of thing won't get you in trouble where you're from. Y!Gallery has some nice artists that can do romantic and engaging same sex pictures for example. You'll have to sign up to see them, but there is no obligation to use the site beyond reference.

tyvm for help and site name) I find nothing distasteful in looking at subject(especially lesbian part) - art is art, and nothing more. But it difficult to understand what's appealing in picture(except good drawing) when you not part of target audience

In a short answer: sexuality of a person only entails who they're willing to be engaged with. For homosexuals, that only means they're open to those in the same gender as they are. It's an issue no one can give a clear definition about, really.
Personally, I think sexuality is just that: sexuality. By itself, it does not change nor force a personality or behavior of a person, though societal standards do influence the perception of sexuality.
Heck, we still live in a world where most people think gay men are actually men who want to be women (as an example). The dominance of that mental thinking does influence how people behave.

That thing about tormenting gays is actually very well developed in scientific articles I studied (it's like savouring). But i need somewhat more everyday information. I have my thoughts, but with firsthand testimony i can decide - am I right or not.

I can not speak for all of the gay community but for me it is mostly how i react to situations. For example when I am with friends I am more likely to open up to women than men, however there will be times when I will open up to men but usually only to help them or if I really trust them. Also at a party with a high number of straight people or people I do not know I will often be more reserved and keep to myself, mostly because of how the gay community is thought of by a number of people. But on the other hand when I am with people I know or a group of other gays I will be one of the first ones on the dance floor. I hope that will help you.

sorta, thank you. But I don't really understand: what do you mean by "open up"?
kurokaji
6 years, 3 months ago
By open up I mean to be able to talk about my emotions and things that are bothering me.

The only thing "gay" about me would be what I'd prefer in the bedroom. Unless I were to explicitly tell someone that I am a homo, there would be no 'obvious mannerisms' or anything in my nature to indicate that I was anything other than just another 'one of the guys'. In fact, most of my gay friends still don't know that I'm also gay. Speaking then, for how they act...well, more sensitive, concerned about being fashionable, aesthetics in general (some go as far as to wear subtle makeup to conceal blemishes and other 'imperfections', etc...), immersed in culture and trends, perhaps a bit 'femme'? To put it succinctly, they try to advertise their sexuality and perpetuate stereotypes as much as possible. Femme just means...dudes who imitated what is socially regarded as more 'female-like' (well, more Bridget as opposed to Tim Curry in drag, anyway).

p.s., at the opposite end of the spectrum, things considered 'manly' are actually major draws for homosexuals as well: Large muscles/body-building in general, fast cars, overhauled pickup trucks/semi's, leather/motorcycles, heavy metal, violent video games and movies, full contact sports (boxing, rugby, etc..), big guns (literally, and well...yeah), chainsaws, outdoorsy crap (hiking, fishing, camping, mountain climbing), cheap beer, seedy bars, etc..
