Until a few days ago, it actually was possible to follow and interact with people from other Mastodon instances on Baraag! Unfortunately, the admin there had to disable that feature in order to save on server costs. But, they do say that they plan to bring it back, so I'll reply here again to let you know when it's back!

ohhhhh i was wondering what was going on! i tried to follow the user and didn't get an error, it just spun forever. then just 5 minutes ago i went to https://baraag.net/about#rules and got a big scary error

sounds like baraag is dealing with the same thing every other mastodon server is dealing with -- tons of new users! it's a cool problem to have especially in the light of my recent journal, which was basically complaining "all these sites are great but they have no users"

There are lots of mastodon instances all with their own rules -- sometimes you can join, sometimes you have to submit an application, and sometimes they are invite only. Yiff.life is invite only but if you want me to send you an invite link I can generate one.
yiff.life has a strict "No suggestive/NSFW content depicting minors or "cub" art" rule so it's possible it's not the best Mastodon instance for people here! it is OK for me

if you really want something just like inkbunny (or with even fewer restrictions than inkbunny) i'm sure there is a mastodon instance for you! people here are talking about baraag and i guess their only rule is something like "no real life sexual content" so you can post whatever you want, as long as it's not a photo. yiff.life absolutely has dudes just posting pics of their shlong and stuff, but doesn't allow "minors" (bowser jr, etc) in porn.
i wouldn't say one site is less restrictive than the other just that they enforce the same desired rule (no porn pics of real life kids) in different ways
