Guys...

If i ever let it slip that i'll go in for any kind of surgery that only give quality of life improvements, you are hereby invited over to punch me.

On Wednesday i was in for surgery to fix my nose so i can breathe better when allergies get worse and when i get a cold. I can say nothing other than that i should have never done it, the panic, anxiety and depression i've had since the surgery isn't worth it...

It will, besides reacting badly to the narcosis and barely being able to wake up which is causing the worst of this the surgery itself was a success so just have to wait for it to heal completely so i can enjoy breathing and talking normal again x3

The surgery was successful so it should work out just fine, for me it's just nightmare induced awakening from the narcosis and that i didn't react well that makes it bad for me, i also feel like shit right now x3 Thankfully i won't be laid up for two weeks but i have to take things calmly for two weeks so i can heal properly. :3

Quality of life surgery is the best though, even if at the time or shortly afterwards there is regret. Sometimes a surgery that you didn't want but needed can turn into a QoL surgery without realizing it.

I had a forced colostomy done this month last year, and though I really didn't (and still don't) want it, for the most part my quality of life has greatly improved. Theres still times I'm stuck in the bathroom for a few hours since I elected to not have my rectum removed in the hopes that a procedure becomes available that can repair it before my Crohn's Disease makes me have to lose it. I figure it's a small price to pay when there are promising things in the works for reversing internal scar tissue. If I can just hold out for roughly 5 more years my rectum may be able to be saved.

And if I do manage to keep it long enough to save it, this colostomy may be able to be reversed. Though I would only do that if it wouldn't make me go back to spending almost my whole waking hours on the toilet.

As someone with lots of gay sex art in their gallery, I am sure you can understand why I wouldn't want to give up my rectum, even if I won't be able to use it for those reasons until there is a fix.

Goodluck, get better soon. Once your nose fully heals, I think you'll feel better overall.

I had a similar surgery once. It´s a pain in the ass. Specially unconfortable when you have to sleep.
It may be a little stressful to deal with that plus a cold, but it will improve your life.
I hope you recover fast!

Considering that you need to be able to breathe in order to not die, I'd say that this is more than just a quality-of-life patch.

Still, having an adverse reaction to drugs in your system isn't fun, so I can sympathize.

There is nothing wrong with what you did at all. Maybe you didn't need to do it and maybe you never want to go through it again. But wanting to improve how you look or how your body functions is not a bad thing. It only becomes a bad thing when people get addicted to the process and can't stop modifying themselves.
