Happy (Belated) Souther 2012!

Yesterday, Sunday, July 9, 2012, was Souther this year!  Hopefully, the Souther Squirrel knocked your noggin with many a chocolate rock and candied nut.

[Justin StinCoy flings a chocolate rock at DOtter and, considering he's only part squirrel from somewhere way back in his mostly mephit family tree, utterly misses DOtter by a long shot.] :p

*D'Otter, acting like a typical river otter, squeaks and chases merrily after the chocolate rock, more interested in playing chase at the moment than in the yummy treat itself*

That's D'Otter.  Always doing what he otter.

[Justin StinCoy* throws a candied nut at the chocolate rock in order to make it move for D'Otter, but hits a conveniently misplaced barn instead.  Hunh.  He's not likely to ever hit the broadside of a barn again, that's for darn sure.  Not on purpose, at any rate.]

* Think of Justin StinCoy as my modern-era persona and CyberCorn Entropic as him in a few centuries.  Justin's just a striped skunk, perhaps tall for his people, but otherwise not terribly remarkable physically.

*sniffs in general direction of barn, makes face and shakes head, brings treat back to Justin, (to whom he's never been introduced)* "Hi, skunk! Thanks for the chocolate. Wanna share? I think there's more here than I want." *picks twigs and grass off rock*

Justin StinCoy: "Oh, um, thank you."

[Justin StinCoy removes the foil from the chocolate rock, somehow manages to break the rock in half, then gives half to D'Otter.  Unexpectedly, the half he's still holding pops out of his hand and rolls off to who knows where.]

Justin StinCoy: "I hate rock and roll.  At least it gathers no moss."

"Aw!" *cuddles, manages to break the half into quarters, feeds one to Justin, licks other slowly* "Poor skunky, you need a friend."

Justin StinCoy: "Thank you."

[Justin StinCoy rubs the bridge of his muzzle when the rock begins chiming the quarter hour and warbling – badly – "rockin' around the clock!"  He then smashes it with a hammer and eats it before it can rock on.]

Justin StinCoy: "And that's the way it is.  This Justin StinCoy wishing you a gouda knight from Ink-BC."

Justin StinCoy: [sotto voice] "I'd get a new scriptwriter, Mister D'Otter, but mine works cheap.  Sometimes, I actually come up with something that makes sense."
