I don't myself go for this, BUT... if they are helping poor people I support it.
Religion is a funny thing as everyone who believe in their separate god, they all believe theirs is the right one. They are closed minded to the fact that there's so damn many of them.
Christianity isn't hardly a word in some cultures as they even have their own idea of creation and how things all got started. The approximate amount of religions there are is 10,000. Everyone of those were thought up by humans, to explain our existence.
The problem with the world today is too many people holding onto these beliefs and not just getting along for no other reason then because we are all still human.

God should be included as that's still almost a childish belief.
People need to grow up and put away the bibles and get along for the reason mentioned.
It isn't time to put religion back into government, it is time to take it out. Religion and government should remain separate from each other. Religion shouldn't be taught at schools unless it is to educate them on the religions, but no way should it be pushed on a child. Teach them what religion is but allow them to make up their own damn minds if they want to believe in it or not.
I wish my parents would never had made me go to church, and if I was a parent I would let that up to them to decide for themselves. I would hope they end up atheist like me, but would support them if they chose a religion. Same goes with being gay or straight.
