Tired and frustrated (little life vent over work/study etc.)

Some of my followers my know that i am a teacher (math&science for 11-13yo kids): it's a job sometimes tiring, but also nice allowing me to show-explore my core interests of nature, ecology, animals etc.
Also it's somewhat a family's tradition, as well a job that still allow a good number of vacation time and free hours each day.

Problems it's that in my country/region, each September the governative offices assigns the school that may change. Sometimes with a good deal of frustration for not starting soon, or reciving a notice very suddenly and the risk of being dispatched to a distant school.

There are a series of national tests that can be made by teacher to gain score and a full unlimited contract to a stable school. I had failed a test already last summer, today i failed at it again: they basically ask TONS of notions of everything (including school programs from  high-school or university) using computer-based quiz, in addition to sheer notionism and not giving people paper & pencil to make calculation or schemes.

I know that there is lack of teachers, and there will be little doubt i will find a school each September (teachers of math&sciences are especially on demand), but i am honestly fed-up at the age of 33yo to study tons of things of little utility for the actual work, without success and giving up days and days i could have enjoyed a proper vacation.

Now have other busy weeks ahead with two other chances for other similar tests (including one for teaching science in high school):  mood is honestly quite low, but i guess i will just try again my best (and likely fail again, until they don't change the testing system a bit, that's an option for 2023).

Thanks! To be fairly honest i am not that much in big hopes for the next imminent ones, but i am neither over-investing this time.
Rest of life is decently good, family growing a bit older but managable, while had some furry meetings (for cinema especially) in the last few months, there have been quite a number of anthro-themed movies

I never knew you were a school teacher.

I'm a bit curious, being someone who teaches math and science, what would be your thoughts on a science fiction story featuring a time travel machine like the one that is in my story, Clarence Coyote and Project Courier?

Yeah, i keep some more basic info in my FA ^^ Honestly had not read your story (or some story in general in the last couple of months). But personally i ever loved the science-fiction and made no hiding of that: while some concepts and ideas are scientifically impossible, some are very possible and in the past this occurred many times when technical or scientific improvments first seen as sci-fi turned happening. I especially care for sci-fi that dwell in future positive prospects (i am fan of star trek on this),

I understand it is a hard time for teachers right now.
All over the world they are having serious problems with all a manner of issues, which differ country to country.
However know that you are doing a wonderful thing that benefits society and it's future.
You are greatly appreciated. Without a doubt there are children that love your lessons, and children that in the future will remember you fondly.
I remember my teachers from my past, with fondness. I may not have treated all of them well, but I loved all of them. I miss them.
You are loved and will be respected.

Yeah even if i think problems can be very different. For example here teachers are relatively "protected" in terms of contracts, rights, days off etc. The salary is one of the lowest in europe... but it's pretty much stable and enough for a decent living.
And yeah, it's a work i personally find gratification: in a class there ever a % of kids who can become genuinely interested certain themes or be surprised or curious. Also at that age (pre-adolescence) they tends to be more receptive of things they simply don't know (honestly i would be cautious to teach in high school, by comparison).
