BUAAAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! You've been in the furry fandom....for how long, noob? Nothing has changed. The number one reason furries are hated is still because we have lots of sex and we like to fap to drawings of cartoon animal characters testing the limits of fornication. No normie gets that. Allot of normies that are aware of furries still don't get that furries are adults too and that like any adult we are gonna atleast have a few thought experiments of "what if what I like is in a sexy situation?" and up goes the boner for 15 minutes of mastubatory fun. All that the ill-informed normie is gonna do is go "Ewww what a weirdo!" ....nevermind that the normie might be into Henti, Gay Midgit Porn, Goatsie Guy, Shitting Dick Nipples, or some other crazy weird shit that would make what we furries get into look like attending Bible study in comparison.
Nothing wrong with anything sexy. Besides, l have ZERO room to complain about sex in the furry fandom because ..... Well. Let's just say that cheek pouches are NOT the sole reason why chipmunks like me are regarded for being shamlessly cheeky bastards. Okay?. It's just the fact that allot of normies still have it in their mind that cartoon animal characters should be off limits due to the fact that production studios and producers have been aiming cartoon animal characters at the younger demographics ever since the dawning of Television. Nevermind that cartoons in general were gunning for adult audiences back when animation was the exclusive domain of the silverscreen way back when. As long as this is the case, us furries will continue to catch flak from people that don't get it.
Bottom line, attitudes towards furries have not changed really and most likely never will. We are still hated for what we are into plain and simple. That's reality. But why worry about it. For you, the furry, this is your fandom to enjoy. As long as you don't hurt others by intention or accident, do what makes you happy and have fun with it. After all you are not beholden to any hater that's gonna hate you anyway no matter what you say or do. You, yourself, are the person you ultimately need to remain true to, otherwise you will find yourself steamrolled by those vying to make you into somthing you clearly are not.
