Commissions and requests scrapped, sorry

It turns out I won't do any commissions. I was trying to get something off the ground, but according to, well, everyone who can draw better than I can, I am not nearly good enough. In fact, I'm pretty low on the ladder and I'm feeling it. So, I'm going to scrap all the stuff I was working on before and try to make much better versions of them.

I know there are some people who will tell me that I'm a really good artist, and I'm flattered, but I haven't gained proper approval from people who can actually draw. :V

Incidentally, one of the resources that was linked to me to learn how I can improve my structures and other things was this blog: http://comicrazys.wordpress.com/category/famous-artist... I am blown away by how much sense this makes. I feel like I can almost draw on an entirely higher level and I'm only on chapter 2. I highly recommend it.

Edit: Also, and I feel a little affronted about this, if anyone thought that I had massive problems, why didn't they tell me? At least, why didn't they tell me in a way that wasn't some blowhard trolling? (No seriously, the only person that even came close was a known troll.) The only reason two people said anything was because I brought up doing commissions, and then suddenly everyone wants to be constructive...

I don't think you should listen to them. That pic of you and Drexy you were working on, I'd pay to have one drawn like that.
You can ask for commissions, other "artists" can say what they want, people will base their choice on your work and pay for what they want.

Well, I'm glad you think so, but my opinion of my own art has actually gotten pretty low after one night of messing around with new concepts.

Besides, one of them went to animation school, I'm inclined to trust his opinion. :P

Pfft, stuff and nonsense.

Now do one of a cub Drexy on his knees with a blue collar on and a discoloured heart on his chest ;)

It's not nonsense to me. I don't want to be one of these faggots that is not willing to take professional advice and draws horribly for 10+ years, and yes, people like that exist. You can find them on dA easily. I hate those people, I want no association with them.

Hun, I think it's great you're going to try and improve your art, just don't get disheartened and give up.

And your art are good.
It's not great, but it's better than anything _I_ could ever do... so you're still above the common riffraff ;-)
But if you see you need improving, then improve in _your_ own ways, do not mimic the style of others but find your own art.

Just giving you a bit of my thoughts... :-)

That's common advice but learning basics isn't the same as copying a style. I will definitely keep my preferred style, it'll hopefully just look a hell of a lot more respectable.

I am glad you like my art though. I hope it'll still be interesting after this.

Common advice is still good advice... I'd rather repeat good advice than hope it's been said before.

And with your imagination, I'm sure your art will always stay interesting.
