Racism-classism in Ukraine and Europe

Why so much racism and classism in Europe regarding refugees.
If you're blond with blue eyes you pass, if you're black, hindu or arab you're screwed.

"Ukrainians are first class refugees"
"Blond blue eyed children are more important"

And they dare to say they are civilized?

I'm sorry but I'm very angry, I thought that Europe had partially left behind this garbage of racism and classism but today I found out that it's a mess. If you are from the Mediterranean, black, Arab, Hindu or Latino you are garbage and your death is not important, if you are European or North American we care a lot about you and you are welcome, especially if you are blonde with blue eyes.

Note: I am not saying that they are all classist and racist but the news, people recording and other media are leaving them as garbage before the world

I have a friend in Ukraine who never heard from him again, he is black and with this shitty situation in Europe of classifying people I am even more worried about him.

I am very angry and worried right now.

If only Europeans knew what it means to be a refugee, they wouldn't say so many shit on the news.

There has been a growing nationalistic movement in European countries for some time.

Disgruntled with how ineffective the E.U. was in managing the credit crisis of Greece and other smaller member nations, BritEx, countries being forced to meet asylum quotas, encroachments by Russia while Germany gave Putin free pass.

The other always was blamed to help such right wing political parties get into power.

U.S. isn't the only western nation with a troubled history recent and long past to coup with.

Western nations were built on exploitation and annexation.

They ingrained a cultural of supremacy that's always lurking not to far under the surface.

But some remain worse than others being subjugated, corrupted or simply branded as terrorists or hostile.

The statical records of people who died when the volcano, Kracatowa, in the Malaysian Islands exploded around the end of the 1800s was a prime example. The explosion was so powerful the island the volcano was on was blasted into three smaller islands, and a tidal destroyed villages on nearby other islands.

When the casualty count was recorded, all European colonists who died were accounted for.
However...When it came to the indigenous natives who died, how many died was never counted. And their names were never recorded either.

The same was when the invasion of America by the Spanish, English and other coutries. The natives were almost trash and the Africans that the Europeans kidnapped were double trash. Anyway Europe being Europe, at least those who govern in the old continent, I can not generalize to all people.

You do realize that Africa was in the process of taking slaves and selling them like trading cards long before Europe ever found them, right? Before they started taking and selling off slaves, they just killed off members of warring tribes to be done with them.

It wasn't like Europe discovered the country one day while out exploring aimlessly, discovered the inhabitants, and got the bright idea to export them as a cheap source of labor like an untapped resource like oil reserves.

I know that, but Europe being a "civilized" continent at the time, they should have educated or at least rejected that kind of thing or not?
SentinelX

A nation or continent being classified as "civilized" by whatever metric is used, really doesn't mean all that much. The people are still the same as they always were. They've just become better and pretending their prejudices don't exist. By this pretending is always during times of comfort when everything is going smoothly. As soon as things aren't going all that smooth, the ugly truth of human nature comes right back out, front and center.

There's shitty people and racism in every country. Dont let the news report of that minority blur your views and throw everyone under 1 pile. Because then you are doing the same.

I know, I admit I was making that mistake, but I thought about it and I'm calmer on the subject. However, it is still sad that such thoughts exist in this century. u. u

Racism in Europe is an interesting subject because it dates back to the Stone Age.

'Caucasian' people aren't originally from Europe. They're from the North India Valley, in current day India and Pakistan. During a tremendous drought in the late Neolithic, the blue-eyed fair-skinned people migrated to Europe from India to current day Russia, Ukraine, Georgia, Poland and Lithuania. That's why they were called the 'Caucasians' by the ancient European tribes, because they came along the Caucasus Mountains.

The original inhabitants of Europe looked more like what the Gypsies or Roma look like today. Brown-skinned and slim and sinnewy. They're descended from a hybrid of Homo sapiens and Neanderthals, which came into existence about 90,000 years ago.

When the Caucasian humans came, the Roma attacked them. But since the Roma were pastoral and the Caucasians were battle-hardened by decades of migration, it was no contest.

Racism is a natural instinct that comes from survival. People who are not part of your tribe will most likely be your enemies because they're migrating to try and get resources. Land and resources are scarce and humans have fought for them since the beginning of time.

It's only in recent years that technology and advancements in agriculture and technology have allowed us to live with other races of people without competition for land or food. It's a modern day luxury to afford not to be racist.

Even so as you say, with all the technology and science today, there are no excuses to be taken by those "instincts" much less by public television.

Most people are mindless zombies who just do whatever the other people on social media do. That explains the Tide Pod challenge: supposedly grown-up people putting Tide soap detergent pods in their mouths for clicks on Twitter and Facebook.

Most people are not smart enough to be considered people. Even sheep have a higher IQ than a lot of Twitterinos.

I hate to tell you this, but racism/classism/etc. has existed since the dawn of the human species, and will continue to exist for as long as the species exists. The human species is hardwired to both hate and fear anything that it deems as being different from itself, even if it has to look towards itself to find differences. For all of our intelligence, we conduct ourselves like it's our mission in life to wipe ourselves out of existence at any cost.

I've long believed that if we didn't have matters like race or religion to use as justification for our intolerance, we'd be looking at matters like height and eye color to justify killing off one another.

Humanity will always look for differences and excuses to kill each other, even so in this century it is not justified to be racist or classist and even less so on public television. u.u

Whether it's justified or not, the truth of the matter is that it's simply what we are. We only pretend that we're not and have moved past how things were centuries ago, when in fact we haven't.

Just because it's existed for so long, it doesn't excuse the behavior.
It shouldn't be treated as the norm, as it ostracises groups and systemically mistreats people who just want to live their own lives.
SentinelX

So what's the answer? What should be done about what's basic human nature? How do you change what the species has been since its inception, and will continue to be for as long as it exists?
Keeran
2 years, 1 month ago

No, it's not "basic human nature." We aren't wired to mistreat people based on the color of their skin. It's all a learned behavior.

Let me put it this way:

You know how Child abuse, rape, murder, and theft are all things that have existed since mankind? Should we just start allowing that too?

I hope your answer is "no" because We know it's bad. Yes, racism exists, but we know at the end of the day that it's bad because it alienates people we perceive as different to us. It treats people as subhumans when at the end of the day, we all do the same thing. It also systemicallly categorizes people simply because they were born a certain way. Anyone on the recieving end of this treatment would obviously not like it, so being aware of it means we strive to treat each other better.

Yea... I was suprised when I saw how randomly everybody was helpfull and accepting when it came to the supply and refugees in ukraine were... While on the other hand many countrys still are fighting to prevent refugees from other countrys to come to europe because of the reasoning that every country only wanna take them if the other countrys agree to take some too -_-

over here they stopped and delayed a train on purpose for the ukrainians causing me to loose important bus connection and make me loose all money on taxi. before it was thanks to an ukrainian that I got thrown out and became homeless.

I am not a racist but come on. They never stop a train for me! And why do regular people have to loose connections?

Also...when the first wave came it was all high class middle class people who didn't need help but they got stuff gratis while I don't get any income and am mistreated by the state and everyone.

" No, it's not "basic human nature." We aren't wired to mistreat people based on the color of their skin. It's all a learned behavior.

No, but we ARE wired to loathe, fear, and distrust that which we perceive as "different" from what we consider to be the norm. This wiring has existed since the beginning of the species, and will continue to exist for as long as it exists. It's not even limited to humans, but exists throughout the entire animal kingdom. Pretending that it's something that can somehow be "solved" isn't going to change anything, or make the problem better, because ultimately you're arguing that a core element of all life is wrong and has to be fixed.

" Let me put it this way:

You know how Child abuse, rape, murder, and theft are all things that have existed since mankind? Should we just start allowing that too?

The answer to such a question is an obvious no. Not just no, but HELL NO.

" I hope your answer is "no" because We know it's bad. Yes, racism exists, but we know at the end of the day that it's bad because it alienates people we perceive as different to us. You're not exactly wrong. But unfortunately over the last few decades the term "racism" has become progressively more co-opted, misinterpreted, misapplied, and just generally slung around at the drop of a hat as a catchall claim anytime someone gets mad at something. The race hustlers have done much to make claims of racism lose credibility. Just to name a few examples I've seen in recent years:

Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches are racist because not everyone comes from a place where they would have access to peanut butter, and seeing others eat such may cause them to feel excluded.
https://www.huffpost.com/entry/is-peanut-butter-and-jel...

Asking someone where they're from is racist because it implies they don't belong in the country and should go back to where they came from.
https://www.theatlantic.com/international/archive/2014/...

Traffic signals are racist because they present the image of a white man exercising power over blacks by telling them when and where to walk.
https://www.frontpagemag.com/point/2020/07/traffic-sign...

The Gorilla Glue company was being racist by not including a disclaimer in their product that it shouldn't be used as a hair care product, because it's common for black people to do just that.
https://www.westernjournal.com/racism-blamed-woman-deci...

I wish I could make stuff like this up. But sadly this is all real. We honestly have people out in the real world screaming "racism" over everything because they see racism in every single facet of everyday life. If they don't find actual racism they just make it up.

Stuff like this tends to make people dismiss claims of racism, because of dilution from countless screams of fake racism. It's no different from people making fake hate crime accusations and later being found out for it. You get enough false reports taking up headlines and eventually you just stop caring, because when everything is racism, nothing is racism.

I think you exaggerate things. A glue and a traffic light are not human beings. Human behavior, however old it may be, does not make it benign. If you kill someone black or enslave them or kill a Muslim because they don't believe in Christ, it doesn't mean that they are good just because they were normal in the past. The mission of the human is to be intelligent and not get carried away by that type of destructive and self-destructive impulses, although we still have a long way to go, it is not an excuse to normalize things like racism, classism and war.

It's my opinion of course.

" I think you exaggerate things. A glue and a traffic light are not human beings.

While I don't deny such, the racism-hustlers in the articles are claiming that they're symbols and representation of racial inequality, and using the stupidest of reasons to justify their position. It makes it very difficult for anyone to take claims of actual racism seriously when even the color of paper is said to promote white supremacy.

" The mission of the human is to be intelligent and not get carried away by that type of destructive and self-destructive impulses, although we still have a long way to go, it is not an excuse to normalize things like racism, classism and war.

Would you mean that the ongoing racism directed against whites is equally unacceptable and shouldn't be tolerated for any reason?
