Change it up

I have been slow on commissioning more content, been financially tight. So might hear over to posting more written content in the meantime. I’ve always enjoyed writing, just not very good at the editing portion so Grammar and Spelling is normal on the low end of my skill try. But would be nice to still share ideas even if I can’t afford to get them into art pieces or comics yet, maybe a later project. Also give me time to keep struggling through trying to learn art on the back burner. Incentive to gaining skills while having a creative outlet.

Yeah, just burnt out from last year and not feeling the constant overtime to buy art. Slowing down to just 62 hours a week, think doing the 74-78 hour weeks was just too much for too long. Would be nice to live again.

Bare minimum rest for me, can’t afford to rest too much right now. But thanks!

Yeah, writing seems to be a good path to take if you either can't draw or can't commission. I'm kinda like you where I also have issues with the writings I'm doing. I use Grammarly for the stories I write so that might be something to look into. For me, it's all about presentation and perfection. Writing everything that's in my head and shaving it down to a final project. Having OCD doesn't help on that part lol.

Good luck with your writings and hope to see some. Sometimes it's just easier and better to allow the reader to imagine things in their heads versus displaying them. The key is to strike a balance between what you want the reader to see in their heads and what you want to give them as artistic license. Writing is mostly free... the only thing you're paying for is the cost of time. Good luck man.

Thanks! My biggest obstacle is I have such a hard time focusing on a computer. Bought the Microsoft license for word, but I’m more pencil and notebook guy. Typing is so bleh, and hard not to check sites. But we’ll see, I will give it a try and maybe when I’m getting ready to commission again I’ll have something lined up from the stories can prep my favourite for comic commissions again.

Yeah, I hear ya, sometimes it just feels better to write the old-fashioned way. Maybe you can do that for drafts and then transfer it over to a computer when you have something. I'm a computer guy, so I tend to type fast (haven't done a typing test in a while to see how many words a minute I can do), doing it on a computer just seems like the right thing for me.

A good idea when it comes to commissioning stuff in relation to your written stories can be commissioning works that illustrate major points in your stories or scenes that are either so impactful or so good that it has to be illustrated for the readers to view. Think of it as a snippet in time for everyone to see.

I hope your "burn out" gets relieved as it's no fun to be stressed and burnt out... can lead to major medical issues. Take it one step at a time and hopefully all goes well.

Thank you!!! Hopefully getting back to my old roots of writing will light that life spark again.

If you're interested there's a discord for furry writers. Lots of people there willing to help out in editing, or just to bounce ideas off of. It's also a pretty chill place just to hang out and make friends. But let me know if that sounds like something you might like to join.

I’d definitely sound interesting, I was just going to do shorts for what I normally send to artists for comic ideas but doing full stories could be interesting too, as it’s been a while since I’ve really worked on anything other then cashiering. And sneaking in a bit of doodling here and there.

Thanks!!! Could be a good way to get feedback on what I’m doing well and where I can improve. Plus get more furry stuff out on my page.
