People who demand high respect...

...are often the ones who least deserve it. Remember folks, respect is an earned deal, you are not entitled to it off the bat. In my case, you have to be good to other people, and have enough moral responsibility to call out others who do wrong onto others.

Yes they are. I've always looked at it as though everyone gets some respect, then they do something to get more respect, or (it seems more often these days) lose it.

Well, there is a small amount called the baseline. I am taking about the kind of respect that goes above and beyond the baseline.

Exactly what I meant... And I'm sure everyone has a slightly different baseline and slightly different fuse length.

What bugs me is when people say "at least respect the office" or "the position" or "the title" when in the case of a person deserving no respect in a position that SHOULD deserve respect is even LESS deserving of respect because they are disrespecting their own position by being unworthy of that respect the title deserves.
