About tags

Hey guys, how are you doing?

Just giving you all a heads up, everytime I draw my main sona, Gwen, I receive a huge ton of suggestions for me to tag "female". Despite looking female and most people referring to them as "she", my sona is non-binary, and that's the first thing I tag, always.

So please don't tag her as female, I won't be accepting that if you send as a suggestion x.x

I know it's confusing, so I'm here to clarify!

I think that is a very difficult topic.

Sure you can declare yourself nonbinary in a gender-role system, but after all, your body is female.
Also tags are not supposed to be any statement-platform, but more a discription of the picture. So female is obvious correct, since some people don't want to see female, blacklist the tag and now get offended by your post, because they see a char with boobs and pussy.

I understand that you don't see her as a female, but from a neutral standpoint, of a simple viewer of your art, she is definitely female.

I don't agree with that, that's one heck of a way to trigger dysphoria in someone, but ofc, it's just my opinion.
I won't tag her as female as long as the post is made by me

Then suggest 'pussy' or 'boobs' as a tag, rather than female? Seems like a pretty clear way of getting it on the blacklist for people that don't want to see that, rather than insisting the character must be tagged as female.

1. Anyone should respect your request and tag your OC according to your wishes! It's that simple.

2. I am Hungarian, and we have gender neutral 3rd person calling for people, so 'She' and 'He' in Hungarian is simply "Ő" ('They/Them' is simply "Ők" and also gender neutral) without telling about any gender at all, and 'It' is "Az"...much more simple to use, and politically okay before it was a thing. We only seperate the persons from the non-living things. I don't really know about many languages (know only English and German), but it can be difficult to understand the concept of pointing out genders, or other request, so they are going for looks, and not making too much thinking about it, but they don't want to offend anyone...I guess. My first point is still valid, but foreginers may think differently, and might not care more then looks, or can't really bother for being politically correct when talking English stuff.

Oh yeah, I won't get mad If i see like a post on e621 with my character being called female, that's fine. Without proper context it's hard to tell, and language barriers can definitely get in the way

Seems like a female. I have my own story about that: I have many friends with Herm main OCs, (Non hyper schlongs - many of them rest inside the body) and 100% of them requested to be called with ♀ identifiers. Not that it is correct, but indeed, they are looking female, so if others are non the wiser, they are clearly identified as female...which is of course incorrect, since they are more of like pretty traps, but that will come out only in the bedroom...dungeon...wherever. =^///^=
But I find it very on-spot, highly entertaining and funny, that they have their own secrets, and only sharing it with those, who they are willing to take things close and personal. ~♥ ☺

Hey, thanks for the update about proper pronouns and your personal identification. So noted, and happy to shift thoughts on that. Genuinely appreciate it.

I really do appreciate the effort <3

Literally hurts nobody to make the effort. And seriously, looking up and down at the idiocy in some of the comments on this journal, you'd think that they had some kind of claim on the identities of others. Screw that, and screw them. Thanks for being forthright and clear about what YOU need and who YOU are.

I believe in body dysphoria. I have struggled with it, myself, but I would never claim I don't have a male body. That's just having a reckless disregard for reality. It's the kind of thinking that has people continuing to deny climate change. It's the kind of thinking that had people storming the capitol a year ago.

You can not simply pretend something is other than what it is. And if you truly believed in a non-binary condition, you wouldn't be so reluctant to tag your images as "female" because you would be able to acknowledge they are capable of being more than one thing at a time. By your own assertions, the body is completely unrelated to the individual, or you would not be able to say "ignore what you see, Gwen not a female!" If the two were not unrelated, you'd have to accept that your body completely defines your identity, which it doesn't. Female body, non-binary character, those are the facts of these images.

You are intentionally offending people. People who probably want to see your art and support you, but do not want to see a female show up on this website. No matter what you may claim, you are the offensive one here. Your willful rejection of others' feelings who have NO MALICE toward a non-binary identity, but don't want to see something which is totally unrelated to that.

You may as well be posting snuff porn and not tagging it as snuff because in your art the spirit doesn't actually die, then go on a rant because people got upset over seeing bodies graphically mutilated and you didn't tag it. Your belief or intention don't change what is actually depicted. Tag your art according to what is actually there--and of course that means keeping the non-binary tag as well.

The inability to let simple facts coexist alongside each other is why we have people claiming Covid is a hoax, just because there is actual evidence of false positives. They can't accept that covid can both have hundreds of millions of real cases AND have some false cases. Two things can be true at the same time. Accepting one thing does not mean rejecting all others.

I can do whatever I want dude why are you talking like you dictate gender rules

Covid and misgendering are not comparable whatsoever, respect my wishes if you can, but if you don't agree or don't want to, fine as well

Dictate gender rules? There aren't "rules" to gender. You're claiming that reality is null and void if you so wish it. Just because a genuine fact displeases you, you want to insist it is untrue when it clearly isn't. The fact that you think your side doing it is any different from the other side simply denying the things they dislike about reality proves that you really are on the same side as them.

I have real stake in this game, but I'm on the side of truth and facts. Anything less, and I'd be contributing to the current spiraling of human society into oblivion. Reality is upsetting and inconvenient, and unless people face it bravely and honestly, there will never be actual solutions to the very real problems we face in every single aspect of civilization.

I am not claiming anything. I'm asking you not so suggest a specific tag to my art. You're the one forcing your opinions on me, learn not to be tone death, perhaps

Nobody asked for your opinions or walls of text

Plus you're trying to apply talk of science and facts to a fictional anthropomorphic fox, dude. Like come on.

I get it. Being gender-fluid myself, it can get very confusing and frustrating.

Oh I totally get it! As someone else here suggested- An alternative could be using pussy/boobs tag so people can still blacklist it

I'm pretty sure the male & female tags reference the sex of the character & not the gender, maybe tagging the character as female & non-binary would be a good compromise between search results & personal representation. But at the end of the day you need to do what's best for you're mental health, best of luck.

I'm not going to tell you how to tag your work, as I feel it is far from my place to do so. The links at the bottom of the website do offer some hints as to the expectations users should be able to expect from others on this site.

Here is the Keyword Policy: https://wiki.inkbunny.net/wiki/Keyword_Policy
Here is further clarification on Keywords: https://wiki.inkbunny.net/wiki/Keywords

Personally, I feel like they may need an update the page. It looks like they swap "gender" in for "sex" in the Keywords page. But then it also gives more in depth descriptions that indicate that they seem to justify the need for tags based on the genitalia that is showing. Again, it's not up to me to decide whether that is right or wrong. That's just my interpretation of what is published.

If the expectations for certain tags are a source of contention in your experience with Inkbunny, perhaps it may be worth opening a trouble ticket to see if you can get clarification, or if the site admins will update the Wiki to clarify those tags.

(Edit: I just realized how old this journal was. If this is not something that is causing you trouble anymore, please feel free to ignore me. ^^; )

Does 'cute' count as a gender? Cause if so they're definitely cute. ^w^
