This is probably going to sound much more prestigious than intended, but about a week ago I won a small animation challenge. Because of anonymity and stuff I cannot go into a lot of detail, but basically two friends of mine told me that every few months or so one of their former art school lecturers organizes an animation challenge. They heard about the challenge 1 day before the submission deadline, and told me about it, but fortunately you only needed to animate a 30-second-clip, and the 10 or so previous times the challenge was organized a lot of people procrastinated a lot, and therefore also started creating their animation on the last day or so before the deadline. I worked on the animation till 5 a.m., and unexpectedly managed to finish it in time. It's about a fox landing on a planet and finding a volcano :3
The next day we then went to a small cinema where all the animation clips submitted where shown. It was really cool to see my animation on the big screen! 5 other people had submitted a clip, and about 13 people or so were present. Then everyone voted for their favorite clip, and I got the most votes. The art teacher then gave me a winner certificate ∑:O
Maybe sometime next year with more preparation time I even find a bigger animation challenge I could participate in. Something about strangers in a cinema seeing my creative work on a big screen makes me feel much better about my art x3
