Little did I expect to fall for feral herm characters as hard as I’ve done after meeting :SaphiraFafnar. While he is a rather exceptional case given the attention to detail and lore he puts into his characters compared to the vast majority of us, Xigfeldo might very well be my favorite herm dragon of all times. So subtle, so elegant, so…lovely!
But it did not all start like this. Initially, my perception on herm characters was split. Not that I minded them; some were even quite attractive! But to me, character identity seemed important, and having the best of both worlds seemed like it lessened some of the struggle of pairing up with a partner, because herms naturally understand the lusts and needs of both genders, the cheaters :P
I think the moment that marked my transition from stuck-up simpleton to a more welcoming perception of herms was the creation of my three-headed dragon Rosgarryl. Since it was three characters in one, it made a lot of sense to add gender identity to the character, so that all of the three heads could agree on it. And that’s when I really started to research herms a little more in depth.
Other people also helped open me further and further to the idea of herms thanks to their wonderful characters. They all pitched in with their unique views and concepts, and little by little, through talks or the occasional RP at the time, the idea of feral herm characters was no longer just a unique aspect of a character. It became its own identity, to be treated as such.
Which brings me to one of the things I most appreciate about herms in the present day. How awesome must it be for the private bits to influence one another? For an intense vaginal mating to lead to a hands-free ejaculation? Or to crank the pleasure up to the high heavens by stimulating both parts at the same time? This is something I dearly want to explore more in my writing, so much so that I wish to forward you the possibility of furthering our herm education through kinky exploration together.
