Why...why..why...?

The name Maverick "Fuck yo Luck" Skye, I swear that's the best and most appropriate nickname I could get from someone. Just after I got the Nintendo 3DS system update this morning, I decided to hop on Pokemon to finish my Dream World thing. And wouldn't you know it...I get two separate error messages, and makes it worse, without error codes.

"The save data could not be accessed. Please turn the power off and reinsert the Game Card."

That's from the game itself. Sometimes, the 3DS gives me a message itself.

"An error has occurred. Press and hold the POWER Button to turn the system off. Please refer to the Operations Manual for details."

That second message says to me that I don't think my file got corrupt but the game itself somehow got messed up. Which is odd and makes no sense, since the last time I used it it was fine and I hadn't taken it out of the system. I sent a message to Nintendo a few minutes before I started this journal so hopefully something would come of this. I've sunk 800+ hours into this game and over 1000+ On Platinum/Soulsilver combined. The fruits of all of my efforts for the last 5 years of playing pokemon were on my Black cartridge. And of course, this would happen just months before the sequel which directly links with your Black/White game card comes out.

Yeah...I'm always such the lucky guy, ain't I?

Well, all I can say is what I usually say in this situation. Things like this are par the course for my life. Things like this should not even come as a surprise.

I hope that Nintendo can help in some sort of way, since I -really- don't want you to lose all that data.. But man

Fuck yo' luck, bro o3o

Seriously. XD I dunno what this is but I gotta agree with you. My luck is seriously so bad it rolls right around to being funny because it's so bad. Like, at the moment I'm in the initial laughing phase myself. I'tll probably hit me after I wake up in a few hours.

I sometimes get the error with my gba lite. the game could been in the console for a while but somehow the screen shows as if there is no game inserted, i simply take it out and lightly blow on the game's circuit and it usually most of time fix it; don't know if it could be the same for you as i am yet to try the 3ds.

Maybe we should change it from "Murphy's Law" to "Maverick's Law".  :/

With my handy dandy user instruction manual NOTHING can go wrong! *flies out the window of a 50 story building* never mind...

Considering that flashcards not supporting the 3DS cause the console to display the error "An error has occurred. Press and hold the POWER Button to turn the system off. Please refer to the Operations Manual for details.", I got the feeling that your Black card is indeed pretty messed up. It would be best to try it with a regular DS, as those work a little bit differently than the post-DS consoles like the DSi and 3DS - it has no copy protection system to prevent pirated or unlicensed games from running, which is why there are so many different flashcards available for that system.
