Hello friends~
So, I said in my last journal that things were a bit of a whirlwind. I didn't realize how much so! A large part of it was getting ready for another con and a costume (plague nurse) I was wearing for it. Unfortunately, I didn't finish in time. ;n; The dress was waaaaay above my skill level and the doctor's bag I was making was a bit too much. However, the mate encouraged getting a backup dress and it was just perfect! I actually really like the dress and will possibly wear it on it's own at some point. XD I did enter what I had into their costume contest and got 2nd place, though, so I'm not complaining! I'll post a picture of it soon!
I'm still slowly working on the doctor's bag because that's just cool. But things are a lot smoother now. Also, work recently (as in a few weeks ago) had a massive event that was draining. So that's over with now. Things overall have calmed down a lot and I'm hoping that means I finally, for real this time, get a chance to really adjust to my new life. (For the new folks, I recently shifted from two 12 hour shifts at night to now five 8(ish) hour shifts as well as going from government ran mental health hospital to doing occupational health with a LARGE hospital.
I'm already noting some big changes, y'all! I get tired, but I'm not soul-crushingly exhausted all the time. I miss being up later in the night on off days, but I'm enjoying having mornings at all again. And my body seems to be healthier too. But still adjusting and getting use to things.
The largest thing I'm trying to get use to is shifting how I do art projects. I'm use to dedicating sparse but long blocks of time for drawing and such. I know get multiple but much shorter time blocks. So that's taking a bit to get use to. It doesn't help that I may be getting a new computer and getting use to a new tablet (which requires a different way of doing digital art than what I've been doing).
Thanks for your patience everyone and sorry this account has been dead for a bit. I'm hoping to get that changed soon.
Oh! And happy Halloween / Samhain. This is my favorite holiday so excited about it. :D
