Our Poor Host. He has dicks on the brain. Perhaps more expected for a bun than other races..?

But anyways, Our Host's complaint about the creative liberties taken with the male anatomy reminds me of other, older complaints about female breasts, usually from actual, living, breast-owning women. Complaints about a disregard for orthopedic anatomy, physics, and the law of gravity abounded.

I also remember some complaints from maybe 2019 about what was called "hot dog dick", where every penis, erect or otherwise, had, along with pronounced size, that one blatant artery that resembled the classic serpentine line of condiment atop a frank, promimently featured in the shot.

im not wild about MASSIVELY oversized tits and dicks but if there you know... NORMAL LOOKING it doesnt bug me over much but you make a good point with the "hotdog dick" it's so incredably unuseual and im not sure why it's thought of as hot.. but lately especialy in japanese stuff but a lot of western stuff too im seeing a lot of this weird dick shape thts just completly odd... It's simple really, the same reason women in the same medium are often drawn with excessively unrealistically large breasts, ass, thighs, ectra and it's the same reason one often grabs more then they can eat or more weight then they can handle:

Most peoples imagination is bigger then the logic centers of their brain.

It's why some of the most famous reproduced art is often extremely weird and/or nonsensical. The artist simple thinks "lets give this character a large penis" and then their imagination takes over the creative process leading to rather... strange (and sometimes possibly disturbing) result.

Oh, I agree, it is very weird. Though with the exception of the really extreme versions, I think most are due to the above reason as they just seem like an unintentional bad attempt at perspective brought on by their brain either not knowing how to do it properly so it goes for "it looks good enough for me"... witch is very much judged by the creative side of our brain more then the logical side (with exceptions)

As for the extreme case, that's just pervs being pervs drawing/commissioning ridiculous scaled dicks because they like it. I know this because I'm a perv myself for... well a few strange and unusually scaled things lol

In many media they look really weird. I think because many of the hentai artists there are hetero males they only put effort into the female parts (which can look really odd too in cheap productions) since they are not interested in the dick it itself, only as a means of penetration.

However as far as veins go mine can be pretty bulgey... Even grotesquely so. At least they used to. I could check if I have a picture of that on my hard drive.

My assumption was always that the people who draw them this way, put on an innocent act, actually basically saying that they haven't seen one in real life yet.

Not in the form of a lie. Especially with Manga, I actually think this is done to express that the author is feeding pervy minds, but the author isn't pervy themselves. If that makes any sense? For the same reason they play music when pooping on the toilet? It's a form of masquerading something, and perhaps the intention is benevolent like that.

I do find it a bit dumb that in hentai in furry images they make dicks 8-12inches long when the entiriety population of earth are not even that big. This is indeed a problem. Especially when it's in furry art. Human dicks on furries are bad enough by themselves, before any misshapenness comes into play.

The one place it would be OK if if the character has a really cartoony look with bizarre proportions and odd shapes everywhere

second, I definitely agree with you. There are so many designs that have been used that just make you go "there's no way" or "well there goes the immersion". Sometimes the oddity is part of the allure, such as the particular art style, but more often then not it's just odd for the sake of being odd I feel. :/

I have a small thing to add to your rant, not compeltely centered on dicks, though you make very solid points... But yea, I've played some VNs (Visual Novels for those who don't know, it's a form of interactive story) and... I'm yet to see one with ACTUAL diversity! It's like they're all centered around one body type, usually jocks... don't get me wrong, I appreciate the type to a degree, but in a game focused on dating I expect some choice. X'D I think one of the issues is artists not breaking their mold, they just draw one body type cuz that's either what they like or what people like and that's fine for a quick fap, but in the long run gets boring, especially if you're aiming for anything with a story or a lasting piece of media.
