For a moment there, it looked like we were going to get our third hurricane since last year. Breathed a sigh of relief when I saw the cone yesterday. Right now it's a strong tropical storm, and it's not out of the question it could briefly strengthen to a category 1 hurricane, but the good news for us is that it will be coming this way over land from far south of us. Right now it's looking like it'll be weakened to a depression just before arriving here early Wednesday morning, but could still show up as a weakened tropical storm if it does strengthen further today.
So probably not looking at a lot of damage. At worst maybe loss of power for most of a day or so. The horses may miss their breakfast till after noon. >.< The mule's not going to be happy with the delay.
edit: It didn't strengthen. Winds back down to 70mph and falling. Should be less than 40, probably much so by the time it gets here.
edit2: oh.. nevermind it's a hurricane now. Not for long, still, but wtf?
edit3: Well it's directly south of us and looks like it's about to fuck off into Louisiana. Just some light rain here
