Is it so wrong.....

by
.....That even though I'm both transgendered and a furry.......

......That I have absolutely no interest in the male anatomy?

On a sillier vein....

Who can you call on a banana phone?

Bananas, of course! ;)

Why would it be wrong? Being trans doesn't dictate your sexuality, and being furry certainly doesn't. Then again, I'm both of those things as well, and I very much prefer girls, too, so I guess I can't claim to be unbiased here.

I point these two aspects out for the obvious reason: stereotypes. Have a crossdresser in a story or drawing? Must be gay, then. (Not necessarily, as we both defy that stereotype!) And of course, all furries must be gay, even the Ones who do draw females.

Oh, and there're no females in the furry community.

Right- Pure bullshit, if you ask me! :P

Things to think about when one looks about. :)

It's so much easier to just assume that somebody is like this or that instead of taking all the trouble to get to know them.

...um... just so I'm sure, are you trans-gender or transvestite or both? Because I know they're not the same. Like, a trans-gendered person will dress as the gender they're supposed to be rather than what they are to get used to it, but that's part of the process of changing. Transvestites cross-dress for completely different reasons.

The term "transgender" is an umbrella term that covers all people and situations across genders, which include transsexuals, who are the ones who aim for sex reassignment surgery to solve their gender identity issues; crossdresser/transvestites, who express their gender identity entirely with appearance and mannerisms; and mixed/dual-gendered people (hermaphrodites/"third gender"). Transvestism comes in three common forms- "Drag queens", about 2/3, statistically, are gay, do it more for show, and tend to be the most flamboyant; androgynous people tend to express themselves with elements of both genders; and crossdressers, who express themselves in the opposite gender, identify themselves as that gender, and don't want to go the surgical route- This latter group tend to be the most shy/reserved about themselves, often hiding this aspect of themselves from family and friends-- Statistically, about 2/3 of crossdressers are straight. I'm of this latter group.

Does that clear things up? :)

Yes, thank you, it does. Sorry for making you bother.

It's not a bother- It helps me try to accept myself, which I have been struggling with since I was very young. (this is true for most transgendered people.)

Transgendered children these days have it loads better than I did, now that there are resources, opportunities and the ability to have an open discussion, instead of hiding in shame, which I had gone through, including the purges and denials...... Which is why I understand what quite a few in the furry community do when they deny that they're furry.

The only wrong things are things that come from diseases. Transgender-ness (no word, dictionary? really?) and Furry-ism (again?!) are not diseases. Therefore, nothing is wrong there.

Prejudice is a disease-- See my comment to Niamh above as to why I bring it up.

Maybe you're a gay woman born in a straight man's body.

Sounds about right. :) My times spent in intimacy reflect that. ;)

Who ya gonna call on a Banana Phone?  Banana Girl, Ninja of Potassium!  Join our intrepid young heroine as she shiboings the living daylights out of evil-doers everywhere!  In her guise as rambunctious student Moonshine Firewalker, she fights a never-ending battle for truth, justice, and the Banana way!

As for your first question, I don't see it being wrong.  Oh, certainly it's not a mainstream sort of thing, but few in the mainstream realize just how narrow the mainstream really is.

I would respectfully disagree with Winterimage and suggest that you are indeed a straight man, programmed to be interested in women.  However, you've got un-defragged files, junk files, and partly-installed programs clunking around in your brain (just like everyone else does, no matter how "standard" their sexuality is) and altering your programming in unpredictable ways.  So you're a straight guy with files in your head telling you that you're a girl in certain ways.  Mind you, that's only a hypothesis, and that I am hardly a psychologist.
