Is an unrelated Death in a Porn Story Okay?

by
So I'm writing an erotic story and I realized that the first thing that happens is the untimely death of the protagonist's roommate, and a lightly described mess of his room with the body.

This is there because of the inspiration of the story, so it's relevant, but I worry that it would be a big downer or squick anyone hoping to use this story as fap fodder.

I'm not sure how kinky everybody is these days, but with the presence of things like Vore, Snuffie and Guro I figure there must be some leeway here.

I can't speak for other people, but if there's parts of a porn story I don't like, I just skim over them to get to the parts I like. And those parts should still stay in; they're an intended part of a work of literature, regardless of if the overall purpose of that work is to make the reader squirt.

I vote, sure it is. Considering it's at the start. Most pornos start with some semblance of a plot setup, which can be basically anything, and so long as there's the promise of boners to come, and the story ends on a horny note, from my observation people are willing to accept basically anything else. And if it's actually written well, then they won't have to feel like 'the part I have to slog through to get to the good bits'! ;)

I think you have have just about anything in a porn story. I mean, yes it might not be as exciting as the "juicy parts" but the way I see it, every story regardless of the good parts has to have some setup and things to drive the plot as well as put the characters in situations that define them as characters. I mean Fifty Shades of Grey isn't just 500 pages of Edward Cu... I mean Dorian Grey whipping Ana. There's still plot as clumsy as it is. Likewise even in the fetishy stuff I've written, there's always setup and character motivation and even sometimes incidents that exist to illustrate what kind of characters they are before the "good stuff" happens.

Thanks for the feedback! I've gotten mixed views from different people. Some say it would put them off completely, some say it's important for literary-ness.

I haven't finished the story but I decided to keep the death in since it's the setup for the whole thing, and I can't think of a good way to write the same story without the death.

Plus it features a sort of identity theft as well, so it might squick people who don't like 'death' anyways.
