What Got You Furry?

by
Alright, I think that question was vague, albeit catchy. I'll rephrase it better: what got you here?

I mean, I'm sure there must be a trigger that occurred to you that made you become at least tolerant with furry stuff; everything happens from something else at some point. The most popular ones come from a show that you enjoyed before, or your natural affinity for anything cute and fuzzy, but if you have your personal way of discovery, I'd love to hear it from you.

I saw porn with furry characters and said to myself "Yeah, I'm down with that shiz".

Not much more to it than that.

Seems to be my way of discovery, only mine took years before I finally broke in and became tolerant.

Hehe I'm sure this'll get plenty of response. I had three triggers I remember very vividly. The very first one was when I saw Tails for the first time and thought "Why can I not stop staring at him?" The second was a dream I had that Minerva Mink was my girlfriend. (Had a dream about Babs too, but she was a total bitch to me.) And finally, Lola Bunny when I started becoming interested in sex, and I went online to see if I could find some more pics of her, and here I am.

Ahh, those characters metaphorically forced puberty into boys. Yes, including Tails.

Funny, the first time I searched for Lola Bunny images, I was treated to porn of it. That was when Google's Safesearch was almost-inexistent.

At the time, I found no porn of her at all, but did find a furry artist website. Met him and his girlfriend who both turned out to be total dicks, so I didn't socialize with anyone from the fandom for years after that encounter.

Honestly?  Childhood cartoons are too blame for me.  I always liked the animalistic / furry / anthro characters over the mundane human ones.

I honestly think those childhood cartoon characters made us more open to what other individuals the imagination can perceive.

In truth though, I think it's because this fandom is really the only place some of my fetishes can be found, then I just came to love the fuzziness <3

When I was a child, I found out about porn but didn't "understand" it.  A year after said discovery, I searched online for Sonic the Hedgehog things.  I was greatly into the games, toys, comics, and shows, and I wanted more.  Well, from that search, I saw Sonic porn...and Rescue Ranger porn...and Digimon porn...and erotica of other cartoons that were big at the time.

It was on that site, long ago, that I started to "understand" what porn was.  So, from there, my mind was opened up to the various things out here.  If anything, I'm more of a creampie person in general; still, furry creampie's good to see as well now, thanks to those beginnings.

Added to that, I wanted to see if anyone would be interested in my own erotics...few seem to be but, eh, I enjoyed writing them, at least.  Maybe more will read them as time goes on.

To quote what I've written on Calicokitea's recent similar journal on FA:

" Well, I already grew up during the 80s with Disney comics, particularly Donald Duck (part of why I never dug those violent superhero comics, ugh!). Then during the 90s, I found out about Fritz the Cat, the Disney Afternoon, and most importantly, in 1996 (when I was 13) I came about Don Bluth's An American Tail (1986, not the Spielberg western sequel). Especially the latter is a reason why today I'm on IB, if'n ya know what I mean...

...anyways! I didn't know about the word furry until I came upon Dave Hopkins's Jack in the summer of 2003. I still don't know if I'd call myself a furry. I just know what I like and what looks cute.

...looking back, up until I was maybe 5 years old or so, I used to use toilet paper for a tail and pretend I was a mouse.

Anyway, speaking of furries, I've recently come across a non-furry forum where somebody mentioned the topic of "those freaks". Obviously they were going by a definition of, "People who get off on the touch of plush, on wearing fursuits made of plush that make them look like feral animals, have sex in them, and some of them have some weird obsession with being spiritually linked to a personal totem". It was likened to leather fetishism as another mainly cloth-driven kink, only that "furries", as part of their disease, would attach some "magical spiritual transformation qualities" to their "cloth fetishism".

BTW, the Freudian way to see this is not to ask "Why am I into something?" but "Why am I not into other things as well?" That's because we all start out as polymorphously perverse where we're basically into everything, and it's negative experiences that make us grow disaffected from particular things.

In other words, the question is not, "Why am I furry?" or "Why am I gay?", but "Why am I not into other stuff as well?"

for me it started by cartoon porn. I always found I got off of it more then regular porn because it had plot and stuff and not*ring* I have a delivery (sex scene). and the more I discovered I found furry to be better. know I can't stand regular porn mainly because I am dead set against fan fiction.

Nobby Mouse turned me into a furry over 20 years ago, but it took Fritz the cat to rouse my interest in furry porn.

I used to like catgirls and stuff, and then a doujinshi group called "empire aniki" introduced me to kemono stuff!  Mr. FeyTas, macop , and others!  Mr. Macop's work also introduced me to kemoshota.  It was at the very end of the 90s and early 2000.  I kept my enjoyment of it a secret for a long time >w>

oh and I should say that I knew of kemono type stuff from the shows I watched when I was a tiny kitten, like sherlock hound, adventures of little koala, grimm's fairytale classics, noozles, cadillac cats, diplodos, etc.   I get very nostalgic when I do anything creative xwx

Was on Newgrounds, saw a flash created by Terdburglar (Beach Linda), loved it, clicked the link to Furaffinity.net that was included on it. Been in the fandom ever since.

I've always liked animals, disney films helped I think, but nothing solid came to mind. My first relationship was with a furry, that could have jump started it.

When I finally decided to upload some porn to the internet I found too many bitch sites restricting users like hell (no underages, no animals, fine quality, first we will check and decide, pay-pay-pay). Maybe that was the first time I ever drawn anything furry. On Inkbunny there's only one major rule, no porn with humans. Uploading and organising stuffs are easy here, so I stayed. Also grown attached to my OCs.
So now you could say I developed a furry sideline in my heart.
