*looks at gallery* Yeah, he started off straight and stiff with handfuls of nut-munchers in his early years, then a bit of a renaissance period with lots of long ears and red fox tails. His later years plunged into the contemporary with a zoo of creative critters in traditional scenes. You can see a slow progression from nut stuffers, to critters willing to eat the meat, topping the food chain, as it were. The portfolio is becoming more diverse and eclectic, sticking his creativity in more places than it was before. Not sure what he finds more enjoyable as it seems he started drawing with themes and critters that made him feel good, with the variety of tastes shown in the recent gallery offerings, it sadly appears that his taste for nuts isn't filling the artistic void that it used to?

Personally I feel he's sold out, starting with his Paw Patrol Period, bowing to crass commercial culture and the demands of the crowd. This was about the time he started living off oc comissions rather than art for art's sake as he had previously. You can see him embracing a lot of more popular franchises and movements, even going as far as to offer prizes on recieving large numbers of fans. I suppose there's nothing inherently wrong with earning a living from your talents, but to me his output, while still diverse, lacks the creativity of his earlier years.

Well, when the nut job came out that's what pretty much launched my squirrel period, and it's also kinda how I got my start. But even back then if you looked in my gallery at the time you would have seen canine art too, I did have some early tod and vixey drawings as well as bolt, Balto, and other canine pics. So I've always had an interest in that stuff too, even before my squirrel days.

When the nut job came out I really loved Surly's look, and I became a huge fan of him and the movie, so I started drawing a lot of squirrel-related stuff, and that was also around the same time you and I became friends actually haha.

But I will say, I'm not the kind of person who can stick with one franchise or one series all the time, I can stick with it for a while, but eventually I start to drift to something else. Now, this does not in any way mean that I am done with the previous series in any way, there's a lot of series that I will remain fans of and will still draw stuff of that series, but it may not be as much as it once was, it just depends.

But I just wanna make it clear that even though sometimes it may seem that I am not drawing a certain thing anymore, that doesn't mean I am done with it for sure. There have been many times in the past where I have returned to other series again and started doing art of that series again. That's why I always tell people I am a random artist, you never know what I'm gonna post :P

I also chat with people quite a bit in discord and quite a few people I chat with introduce me to new movies and characters that I didn't know about, and that also sparks motivation sometimes if I like the characters. So that explains a lot of the random character jumps I do from time to time lol.

Now as far as commissions go, that's just kinda up to the customer there, and recently I have had a lot of paw patrol commissions, that stuff is pretty popular at the moment.

But in conclusion, don't worry guys, I'll go back to squirrel and rabbit stuff eventually, I have plans ;)

Yeah, I still don't understand how you could pass up the nutty goodness of the park hero for Surly. Shame they didn't have a Nut Job III based in England, on the Robin Hood story. A cute red squirrel, English accent, dressed like Robin Hood, and those exotic ear tufts would make you drop your nut in an instant...melt the panties off any critter.

Well, it looks like Anime fandom isn't going to be in his bowl of berries anytime soon.  So at least you have that?  He said my idea based off Evangelion was a bit more complex/advanced for his current level of experience.  I didn't think it was that complex, maybe he just doesn't like anime?

It wasn't that complex.  The idea was based off of the HouseBroken tv show with Skate doing the flat squirrel on a branch thing and falls asleep while watching the Evangelion anime through the window of a nearby house.  He dreams that he is a EVA pilot in one of those testicle tight plug suits the pilots wear and has two small acorns stuck to his head for the headgear.  Alarms go off and one of the angels is attacking.  The camera pans to see a giant crock shoe advancing to his position.  He squirrely scampers through the kitchen doggy door to see Chief dressed in anime cosplay as one of the giant EVA/robot armored figures.  Sitting next to the armored Chief's paws is Skate's entry plug, that is used to combine the EVA pilot to their EVA/armored giant in the animated show.  Honey gently slides her paw along the squirrel's sleek suit as she glides Skate into his EVA entry plug.  A bit of a tight fit, but squirming squirrel wiggles his way into the slender tube.  With a wink and a smile, Honey encourages Skate on a successful mission, then snaps the entry plug closed.  Skate can feel the entry plug being raised into the air as he nervously grips the activation control wheel in front of him.  A bit of a surprise jolt could be felt as Honey paws and noses the tip of the entry plug to the base of Chief's tail.  With a quiet wimper of Chief, a few mushed muzzle nose noises from Honey, Skate feels his entry plug slowly slide and lock into place.  A spark arced, lighting the tube's interior, when Skate slowly turns the control wheel.  The steady rumbling vibrations permeated the penetrated squirrel's body...  "Honey, have you seen my favorite chew toy?" Yelled Chief, startling the sleepy squirrel awake.  A groggy paw wipes the sweat and drool from the nutty muzzle as he drifts back to sleep.

See?  Doesn't seem too complicated to me?  *shrug*

I was just kidding about the anime request, but I can understand about the BannerTail anime as it doesn't fit his drawing style. BannerTail does have a cute style and reminds me of other videos from that studio.

However, since Skate has an interest in the new HouseBroken series, I suggested a couple situations I thought would be funny to see. Like a picture involving a certain squirrel strapped down on the croc shoe while the other squirrels pay a visit. Also, due to the serious lack of available, interesting males on the series, I suggested he hook-up with the fun and fluffy Chief. Slathering himself with peanut butter and letting Chief's long, broad tongue lick the squirrel up one side and down the other was another interesting idea?

Chief's clueless enough that stuff like that'd work. Honestly, you probably wouldn't need the peanut butter. If the skunk episode taught me anything it's that the guy'd lick anything on suggestion, probably twice.
