Why do Goodbye’s have to hurt so much?

My mother and sister got me Emma a few days after my dog Sally was hit by a car back in August of 2014. (February 14th 2008 - August 10th, 2014) Early this morning I woke up to my dog having a seizure and did what I could to help her through it but to no avail and she passed away in my arms. I’m crying as I type this and am gathering what money I had set aside to pay for extra stuff to instead pay for her cremation.

Emma was a loving Chihuahua mix and very playful and active through the years I had her. She will be sorely missed. ( August 12th 2014 - August 8th 2021 )

I do not know how old she was exactly because as to where my mother and sister got her from weren’t even sure themselves..... (Pound) so roughly the 10+ range.

i have had 3 so far. it does not get easier at all. i feel for your loss.
i dono how best to describe it. a lot of love and care goes into them and when its time , its so hard . the memories , the love, the play time. sorry if this makes u sad. always keep the good times going .

Hard for me to say this knowing how your feeling but there really isn't anything you could have done to help her. It's nice you'll have her around to remember the good times at least and that's about all you can really do, I hope things get better over time but it will take time and lots of tears.

2 cats died in my arms durring this last year; August 1st 2020 my 17 years and half old female cat; then in April was my mom's cat that i had taken home, 8 years old.. was very hard for me

My sister's dog had to be put down recently because she was in constant pain. Poor thing was born with a lot of problems: she was blind, had a heart murmur, and had occasional seizures. But she was a loving and energetic dog and she lived a pretty long life.

Goodbyes hurt so much because we loved them.

So sorry. I know very much how it feels. I still miss my dog, Vulcan, from when I was little. He was the best friend I ever had. He used to love it when we would chase him around the garden, then he's stop in his tracks and we'd run into him. They never leave us, so long as we remember them and hold them in our hearts.

Sorry you had to go through that, it's never easy to lose a pet and while it may be slim comfort you were at least there for them at the end, which I'm sure helped them somewhat.

I understand you friend, my Nani had cancer and was having a very bad time, we had to sacrifice her, she died in our arms when they gave her the injection, losing a dog is like losing a family member, quite heartbreaking, you have our partner support

I left for a vacation and a terrible accident happened while I was away and my Jack Russel died. I get his ashes on friday... Wasn't even two yet... The last two years I've had to put three dogs down. It sucks.
