I'll be completely honest, my style and quality haven't been sitting well with me lately. From changing to a more loli approach, to trying new anatomy tricks, to trying to keep up with the comic and commissions, the one thing I HAVEN'T done is sit down and actually try to consciously "Improve" my art. I just saw a post of mine, this one to be more precise:
And realized...if I were to re draw that tonight, not a lot would change. Maybe she'd just look a bit smaller and cub-er, but the drawing itself in terms of quality would be identical. That's because I've been focusing on creating stuff and putting it out relatively fast, rather than TAKING MY TIME with each drawing and trying to make it as amazing as possible to me. I can say with my hand in my heart that on each drawing, be it personal or a commission, I focus more on putting the idea in paper and getting it done rather than taking my time and making something of the best quality I can. People that go to my streams can testify that I take around and at most 3 hours for a complete drawing, which in the grand scheme of things, is very fast. What I said before sums it up, instead of focusing on making something of the best quality I can, I focus on getting it done, not necesarilly as fast as posible, but most certainly not taking my time to make it as good looking as possible. I know that as an artist we're our own worst critics; I'm not saying here that I dislike my art, I can say it has a couple of unique trademarks (eyes :p) and I enjoy it, and you guys obviously do as well, but taking a step back to think about it all made me realize I haven't improved the quality, not because I can't but because I chose to be faster instead of better (missing harder and stronger here, hm...). I want to make my art better, and I wanna show you all what I"m really capable of doing!
Go for it ^^ The speed you manage now is impressive on it's own, but I'm interested to see what you end up making with this approach. Don't forget to take breaks and recharge those creative batteries. We've got your back and we're cheering you on ^^

Your very welcome, you deserve all the support. You are wonderful!
If you think you can do better, theres no harm in trying to improve. But dont think that your current standard is bad. Far from it. You are incredible.

From over here in the sidelines I can honestly say that you get a little bit better with each piece you release. What is it exactly that you want to upgrade?

Thank you for your input nwn it's great to get to hear from someone who's been following me on the side :p
I'm thinking more complex linework, more detailed shading, more defined shapes...the clothing I draw, in particular, is always super basic, there's so much room for style and fun stuff when talking about clothing, and I always end up doing things that look really flat. My backgrounds are really trash as well imo

I dunno. Going through your gallery, I've seen an improvement. From simpler lines and poses to more detailed ones with a more fluid, natural (for furries at least) kind of thing. From slightly static looking images to ones where you can clearly see the movement. Maybe just me.
Still, good luck on the journey of self-improvement. Just remember that there is no end to the journey, just milestones in the road. Ones you often miss until after you've already passed them on the way to the next.

Good luck! I've been doing the same with my art. Something I find that helps is doing 3 things. The first is practice where I look for my weak spots. So for example I'll draw a load of heads and say to myself "Okay, these two don't look right, what's missing?" then I'll locate why they aren't right and how to fix it. 2nd I'll watch a lot of tutorials for art, and read plenty of books on it. I recently learnt counterposing and centre of gravity which can really make your character feel more alive. Finally, I'll do full pieces just for fun and to see how well I've improved over the time. You'll do well! Even if you may take a little longer than someone else, or don't quite understand it right away. You just need to try your best and not give up. ^^

You aren't alone in feeling like you are your own worst critic... I often hate my writing. lol I almost didn't want to upload the RP, since I feel like I totally bombed it... maybe not? Could just be me, I dunno. :P
Finding that precarious balance between a speedy efficient delivery and a rounded chunk of meticulous focusing on honing your craft is vital to a strong successful approach to your artistic drive and progress. Finding a solution to numerous artwork-related dilemmas can be quite exhausting when you fall into the speedy approach. I respect your turnaround time and think your ability to deliver a piece as fast as you are able to kicks superior ass, yet I would love to see you take on more ambitious out-there pieces. I know you've done a few already and they are beyond exceptional!
Kinkiness and porn is one fun, engaging and often-times even rewarding thing to gaze upon with loving adoration (and to fap to, CLEARLY <3) but yet for me, seeing your personal pieces, all the distortion, the visual trickery, the very well-established literary lore you include alongside images that demand to be seen under a black-light or backwards in a mirror to find hidden clues and easter eggs scattered throughout... those illustrations are what keep me fixated. That's the finest hour to behold. It's what I live for! ;3
But yeah, maybe it might not hurt to get wacky with the wardrobe department! ;3 I'm always seeing a bunch of cute dresses on anime girls, usually by way of Twitter or Pixiv. There's always ideal gorgeous designs to be sought out! Maybe it could be super-cute to experiment a little, for reference sake? Mirai in a Japanese kimono robe, holding an unfurled fan and a stick of mochi, or Kayla dressed as an Irish sailor, with buckles and straps all around? Maybe Angel taking on a role of a mage, with a big black cloak draping over her head, dangling down past her sleeves as lighting bolts fire away freely from her palms? <3
I dunno but imaginative ideas are always fun to put to work through artistic mediums! I love to write about all sorts of weird random zany things happening to unsuspecting individuals, so maybe you can try putting your girls through similar circumstances? Those comic strips you've created about Kay-zilla are always a delight to read. They could even be a good incentive to work with paneling, in regards to Teamwork, as a way to fine-tune your stylistic approach! ;) But one thing at a time, especially in regards to commissions. Finding that precarious balance is a must!
In all fairness, I personally believe you have progressed significantly from your Aigaion/Flamewolf era. I appreciate you so much as an artist and as a friend! :D You'll always have this shepcoon's support, no questions asked. <3 Gray wolves and arctic foxes were freaking MADE to be spliced into sexy hybrid folf-girl cuties like Kayla! But hell yes, its almost like looking at two different artists! Night and day. Stellar progress on the right path. You've come a long-ass way, my friend! I'm super-impressed overall.
