In my heart, I knew it would be. I was in my teens when the He-Man cartoons came out and never cared for them.

Not to sound like a dick, but ..... Have you actually rewatched the original recently?? It's AWFUL! Sure, it's a fun romp through fantasy realms, worshipping the bronzed out mass of muscles and all, but it's just terrible. The dialog is horrifyingly awful, the situations they construct to deal with are sooooo contrived.... I tried to watch the previous two reboots of it, and the only redeeming value I saw in the second one was that Prince Adam was absolutely queer coded. But of course all that ghey had to get washed off when he changed into He-Man. Other than that, though, they were also just horrible.

This. And somehow, it doesn't actually seem to make it any better when you already went in with lowered expectations.

Orko and Cringer, though are the real stars of the show, as far as I'm concerned. Everything else kind of fell flat.

Yeah and absolutely! Both are really in their best version possible in that show!! And hotter than ever x3!

I had a feeling it would be like that considering you never trust a reboot/remake of old 80's and 90's stuff to be as good or better since Thundercats (2011) was canceled.

Holy shit! On my second deployment to Iraq, we had a few guys who loved the Thundercats! Just picture eight or nine guys (sometimes a female or two), armed to the teeth, wearing 50 to 60 pounds of gear, riding in up-armored HUMMWVs (Humvees), and as one voice yelling across the com net, "THUNDER! THUNDER! THUNDER! THUNDERCATS! HOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"

That mental image made me chuckle a bit.

Hmm I'm curious to check out both that and that other He-man reboot but since both shows were cancelled not sure if it's worth the trouble.

Thundercats 2011 is really good and as for He-Man the only other one I know of outside of the old cartoon is the 2002 version which I also watched when I was younger and enjoyed it.

I'm 2 episodes in and it's already losing my interest.  The story and dialogue are crap.  I do like the art a lot, including most of the changes in character (including Teela's) design, so that will probably keep me watching it but other than that it seems like it really slaps the source material in the face.

It's like a slap with He-man's sword!
...wait isn't that a slash?
You got the idea! xP

If you want to go classic, then more like holding the sword while you flip over the bad guy and then he falls to the ground, lol.

Spoilers but they already had she-ra did they really need to replace he-man with Teela I mean we have enough lesbian representation in media and this would have been the perfect chance to get some gay guys up on TV in center stage. Also, it was a strange choice to make it a continuation of the old cartoon instead of a reboot like that's nearly 40 years old now.

Yeah, I have no idea why they did that when She-ra is already a thing. It's just....sigh...

I'm just sad because gotta wait like 10 years or more for a new and "proper" show.
