My GF's kid reminded me of a fun moment we had at Schlitterbahn that made his day, apparently.
It had started to rain, for the umpteenth time during our trip, and people in the circular wavepool started freaking out, trying to find a way out. The kid kind of looked deflated as he watched it happening. I just looked around and said, "Oh no! It's raining! We're all going to get wet!" A lot of people laughed it off after hearing me and went back to having fun. Some people left but, I saw none of the panic that was there moments before.
The rain was light, from thin clouds, didn't last long and Schlitterbahn has people that watch the weather with a really good alert system. No reason to freak out unless they tell you to get out. They even run tests on the system at least once a week. Sounds like friggin air raid sirens going off.
Drop logic bombs when you see people freaking out, it can break the lizard brain and make the moment fun, if done right. ;3
