It's broken again

I'll have to put all my commissions on hold until further notice.
My motherboard decided to commit suicide on the worst moment possible and now I have been rendered without a computer until I either fix this one or come up with a PC that would be pathetic for 2005 standards for the sole purpose of drawing and nothing else. (The catch here is that I don't have the money for either).

So yeah, fuck my life and good night.

Do you have a smartphone? With a pen you can draw on that as a back up. It won't be as easy depending on which phone you have but I've been drawing on my phone for over 2 years and it gets the job done pretty well in a pinch like this. I could also recommend a tablet computer for dedicated drawing if you need to get a new one. That's a pain though. If you can avoid it, I always prefer to avoid buying custom Computer parts second hand. They may be cheaper, but given the niche market for them, they almost always are going to break down within a year or so because of being second hand. Still, Good modern computers can run up a pretty penny, but you pay for the longevity since they should last about 5 to 10 years (and you can usually finance them to pay them off over time).

There's of course always good old pen and paper too. Though honestly...scanners might as well be new computers given how much THEY cost lately, but it could help in a pinch for when you're able to upload again. Even if the art style isn't like you're used to, tossing in some traditional here and there could help keep those skills pumped and open a new avenue for style choices.

If you know how to build a PC, it shouldn't be too expensive to just get a used motherboard compatible with the parts the dead one has (type of ram, processor, etc.) and just transfer all the parts of the old one to that one

I hope you resolve everything. I know it’s expensive but if you must, I’d recommend a iPad for art. Computer parts are insanely expensive, and getting one may actually improve your already impressive art compared to old equipment. See if you can finance an iPad Air 4 like mines, and get an Apple Pencil. I see it as a good thing somewhat as you can take time, collect your faculties and upgrade. There always some light at the end of the tunnel. Take care and I hope you can rectify this.
