That sucks. How did you get injured? When I was in basic, I had a friend who did everything including the final PT test. They found out he had asthma and kicked him out anyways.

Oh man, I bet he was inconsolable afterwards. As for me, my injuries began during confidence course. I banged my left shin on a metal bar and ended up on crutches for 3 days. As training went on, I accumulated further injuries to my knee and ankles. The cadre and many of my battle buddies thought I was faking it, which only worsened my morale.

Yea, he was pretty pissed. That sucks, dude. I'm actually flat-footed so IDK how I managed, lol. Running always kills my feet and legs. Didn't have to run a lot though. Except one time at a battalion run in Ft. Stewart, GA. We ran for 20 miles. Freaking sucked. My unit was gonna ditch, but the battalion commander started to jog with us, lol. Oh, and I joined in 2004 and got out in 2006.

As for myself, next year will make it 50 years ago when I went to register for the selective service system as required back then. That's when the recruiter informed me that I was not eligible for military service once he was aware of a past injury to my right hip joint that happened two years earlier. That injury was the result of an accident I had on a Honda three wheel ATV in 1970, a month before I turned age 16.
