South Park: Plandemic Special

So after the dry spell of south park content, we finally get to witness the glorious return.

The special lives up to its name so far. I would have never expected Walgreens to turn into a rave club. It seems like the school gave up the prison motif but kept the depressing elements. However, we still get some south park styled humour. Ouch. Did we really just get rid of Mrs. Nelson like this? As expected, Mr. Garrison is returning to south park and it seems like he wants to return to his regular job.

Man, I thought it was crazy seeing the retirement home as a prison but I think this is even better. Now that Mr. Garrison is back, it seems like nobody is happy now. I almost forgot that former presidents got secret service protection. I still have no clue if the real Donald even qualifies for it or is actually going to accept it. I don't even know if south park is going to make this secret service agent a permanent addition to the cast.

Holy shit, underpants gnomes and Dr. Mephesto cameo? This is getting better already. Yeah, it still seems no one wants to let go of what Mr. Garrison did. Not even the whites. As expected, those motherfuckers are Q-Anon followers and still try to adhere to the ex presidents words, even if they mean nothing. Damn, this not getting vaccinated stuff is really getting to Mr. Mackey. Wow, it turns out he definitely is sick of his job. We might see another heist plot. Damn, south park is really capturing the feeling of Q-Anon members after jack shit happened when Joe Biden entered office. Predictably, the members are going to do what they said the "elite" was doing to children. Damn, even the show is aware of how dated the jokes are. So now that Mr. Garrison is back as a teacher, apparently they would rather have the fucking "shaman" that stormed the Capitol teaching their children.

Ah yes, I 'member Robinhood and how they barred people from buying some stocks. I think that's about as close as we are going to get to mentioning the gamestop situation in south park. Okay, so apparently Bebe and Jimmy are the only people staying in the class. Is Mr. Garrison really denser than a dead star? Finally, the show admits that it's dialing in. Almost literally. I 'member when Jeffrey Epstein totally didn't kill himself. This conspiracy theory, on the other hand, I forgot about it. Craig has finally said what we've been saying for ages. So this "heist" subplot. I'm not sure if this can be analogous to the show itself. Damn, even Kyle's parents are thinking of themselves rather than the greater good or something.

So let's see what the former president thinks of the whites. Wow, even the child is indoctrinated. Yeah, we're still not getting a straight answer about the elites. Also, another thing I forgot about the show was the raisin's establishment. They really decided to have the place closed down. Uh oh, Scott has been successfully indoctrinated. And it looks like "Qties" is how they're going to reference the old Cuties debacle on Netflix from long ago. Crab people and alien visitors? You spoil us too much, south park. Ah yes, march 4th. The day nothing happened. Um... did I just miss something? How did Mr. White, Garrison, and the secret service agent  get teleported to what I'm assuming is the expy of Texas during the really awful snow storm?

So the school staff is currently waiting for the vaccinations. As expected, it turns out the friendship is waning. Okay, I guess the elementary school is the Capitol building that is being stormed. Damn, this show straight up demolished the 4th wall near the end. Okay, disregard what I said about the secret service agent because hello Mr. Hat. So what the hell is this custody battle BS going on between the boys? Is Eric trying to be the parent that bribes their child here?

Yeah, I have no idea what is going on between the news anchors. Well let's see how this plays out. Okay, it wouldn't be south park without Mr Garrison pulling a sled with a giant phallus. Wow, what an unceremonious way to kill off Mrs. Nelson. Man, this show is taking a page out of Sakurai's book. Everybody is here.

Okay. After watching all of this, what do I think? Man, I definitely missed seeing this show. There is only so much that can fill the void before I get tired of it. This was a neat distraction from the world. Seeing that the show hasn't quite changed since the last special makes me think the only direction it can go from this special now is down. I'm hesitant to think it can still get better if they continue afterwards. You know how I thought of a bombastic series finale for this show(at least partly)? One of the things I wanted to incorporate was a lot of fan service that included pretty much all of the characters past and present. Yeah, I think this satisfied that aspect of what I wanted in a series finale. I think I'll boldly proclaim that this special should be the series finale. I'm mostly satisfied with how it played out for the most part. I've said before that this show has had a lot of tough acts to follow and I believe this will be the toughest act yet. I'll be pleasantly surprised if any new south park content comes out after but I dunno if I want to personally deem it canon.
