Twincest and Pregnancy - Spoilers

I've had a lot of people mention, hint at, and outright suggest that Keri should/would/could get pregnant from her brother's advances, and I just want to say here and now to get the record straight;

There will never be pregnancy as a fetish in my version of the Twincest comic.

I apologize to those who have a soft spot for it, but it is just not something I like, in any way, shape or form. I don't like the idea of a baby in someone's stomach while they have sex, I don't like children themselves (I find them difficult to deal with and incomprehensibly dirty in real life), and I don't like the complications that would arise from a brother getting his sister pregnant. This story is one I enjoy because it is grounded in a perfect, fantasy world. I enjoy consequence-free situations in my porn, and so that's what I'll be writing. Having Keri and Devon go through the trauma of an incestuous child would bring things to reality too much for my comfort.

If anyone ever wanted to draw fanart or write a short story of Keri pregnant (or Devon even, if you're into M-Preg), then by all means, do so. But I will not be drawing any of my own.

Yeah, the implications can get a little squicky if it goes that far.

Aww.  I like pregnant girls.  Especially incest pregnancy.  So it's a little disappointment.

But no one should expect you to draw something you don't like.

Would you be adverse to drawing that sort of thing in a commission, though?
Norithics
6 years, 5 months ago
I don't mean to be confrontational, but I have to ask... what's the mindset behind a question like this? I mean, if it bothers somebody enough that they don't want to draw it on their own, why would you want them to draw it under a monetary request? I don't know anybody who can draw something they hate and do a great job, so it seems really weird to try and get them to.

I think the question I more had in mind was if she didn't like it in the context of that story or the characters, or if she would simply refuse to draw it entirely.  Re-reading what she wrote, it seems like the latter.  So yeah, I probably got a bit ahead of myself there.  By the time I finished reading I had forgotten bits of what she said earlier and instead focused on some other question entirely.  My mistake. :o

I was just wondering. That kind of thing is really common! I was just curious what drives it.

I think it has to do with the idea that everyone has their price.

The artist has a talent, the view desires something that the artist refuses to do, so the viewer offers to pay.

It's just a matter of supply and demand and whether the artist is willing to... for want of a better phrase, "sell out". It just has to do with the viewer trying to get what they want. They feel that it's at the very least worth a shot.
Norithics

Interesting perspective. Though I find those types of offers are better made in private, where the other party is more likely to consider reneging on their self-made commitments for a seductive enough proposition.
rudneve
6 years, 5 months ago
True, it's all about negotiation and making the deal as attractive as possible. I can think of several artists who do art outside their comfort zone on the condition that they're paid well and the artwork is kept private between the artist and commissioner.

Still, it all comes down to people trying to get what they want.

I was thinking the same thing; good call, ha ha. I'm almost always willing to draw new things, but yeah, there are just some subjects that I can't get my mind into, and if I can't dig it, I can't draw it.

I have to say, kudos to you for allowing others to use your creations in ways that don't necessarily appeal to you. That's being supportive of true creative freedom, and I am always for that.

Although Norithics already answered your question, I would like to say that you may be able to commission someone else to draw that situation with Keri and Devon. I know I'd be alright with it myself, but I don't know what limitations Nikora might have on it, so I'd check with her, too.
Zeikcied

Well, I didn't mean commissioning Keri and Devon.  I meant like if I were to ask you to draw my characters.

The reason it made me curious is that the sketch series you did for me was the night that Lance and Celia's first child, Adrian, was conceived.  So to see you come out against the idea of sibling characters having a child sort of surprised me.  Not that I made a point of telling you that particular facet of the story, though.

Like I said to Norithics, though, I think that by the time I got to the end of your post, I forgot some things you said earlier, where you said it's not something you like "in any way, shape, or form."  I guess I was too caught up in what you drew for me, my storyline implications of that event, and the question of whether or not I could get preggo porn from you.  I forgot probably the most important part that totally answered my questions ahead of time. ^_^;

Aww, don't worry so much. I misread things a lot myself, and I hardly hold it against ya c:

But yeah, it's not like I'm against other people writing into their works, or actively go out of my way to avoid it, more than it's just not something I can get into, so I can't make it myself, and have no desire to. I'm a little sad I can't do that specific picture of your characters though; I've enjoyed drawing them so far, and I do hope to draw more of them in the future. But for that subject, another artist will have to take the spotlight *nods*
Zeikcied
6 years, 5 months ago
Oh, I have another idea for Lance and Celia for you.  Another artist was going to do it, but he ended up canceling it.  (Either I didn't see a notice or he just didn't say...  I found out a couple days ago when I asked for an update.)

i'm mix on that, it would be really cute if she did in one way, for the sake of true love (if that should arise after their encounter for real) but i can understand that the reality of incest pregnancy isn't as glamorous ^_^;;

While I don't have their entire life story concrete in my mind, I don't plan on them developing an actual romantic relationship. However, if I had gone with that, and I did consider it at one point, I would have eventually shown Keri with child. It still wouldn't have been in a sexual way, but more of a sweet and parental way, as a furthering of their life together.

Not forgetting that unprotected sex doesn't immediately guarantee pregnancy anyway. I'm in open support of this move. :3
Malachyte
6 years, 5 months ago
Indeed! I think a lot of people forget that when they bring it up. I had some comments about how they're not using protection, but I have to wonder, have they really not heard of birth control? The world may never know.
RoseFoxTaylor05
6 years, 5 months ago
I'd think Kerri  would at least be aware of the pill, if nothing else.
Exelbirth
6 years, 5 months ago
Well, there's also the ultimate birth control: vasectomies :P

Funnily enough, I share many similar viewpoints on children as you do. Which is why I'm glad I'll only ever be an uncle, and never a father.
TastesLikeGreen
6 years, 5 months ago
Heh, I couldn't have said it better myself. I go out of my way to mention condoms and birth control in my stories on the subject, and I've still gotten people saying they think it would be awesome if one of my girls ended up with her brother's kid. Oddly refreshing to see one's exact viewpoint spelled out by someone else. Well, I think I'm slightly more tolerant to kids, but other than that, hehe. n_n
Malachyte
6 years, 5 months ago
Indeed :D

Within the scope of furry, I think cubs and kids are cute, and I definitely draw my fair share of cub stuff. So in fiction, I think kids are alright, lol. In real life? I just can't understand how someone could welcome such a loud and difficult to understand being into their home. It baffles me. I cannot reason with them, and therefore I cannot interact with them. Gimme a 10 year old or older any day; least I can play video games with 'em.

There is a perfect solution I stumbled on.  Sad thing is you need family to help you out.   I have three great nephews and now a niece whom I haven't yet seen and now there is another expecting on the way.   SOLUTION  I play with them... Then give them back!!!

I am glad that you are trying to keep this as true to the original as possible, Spix.

Anyways, has the original creator (name withdrawn; obvious reasons) Expressed her feelings and or Interest about the comic being redone?
Malachyte
6 years, 5 months ago
She mentioned that she was happy with my work so far on a comment or journal somewhere, and that made me super happy. I also sent her a note a while back when I first started it to let her know I was picking up the project, and I remember she told me to work on my line thickness variation XD I've tried doing so since then, and I think I've come a long way.

Well to each their own. i don't mind their not being any pregnancy in the comic as well----im sure that the original maker of Twincest didn't intend for Keri to get pregnant.  so im a little bummed out but i surf the web with this in mind. i don't make art so i don't complain. Spix when i 1st seen this comic and found out it was done for i was crossing my fingers and hoping some one would finish it. wish granted and you've done an outstanding job thus far. ^^_

they could have twin children, you could turn it into a novel
then later those twins do it
eventually you just have stillborns or something, I have no idea
repeat
later it becomes a TV epic like roots but about severly inbred people

Ha I agree whole heartedly there Spix. I'm a cub and a few my biggest fetishes are all based around preg and breeding. But yes anyone thats like us and have delt with kids know how hell raising little minions they can be. Thankfully my sister's are raised right and very well behaved but man couple hours with them and ugh take them back. I never expected it to be in there as wasn't in the original and sheesh alot must be asking to have you make a journal of it. Either way keep at the comic and put in what cha want will be great no matter what. =^.^=

If I were in your position, I would do the same thing. On an abstract level, I understand certain aspects of the appeal (pregnancy can be seen as the ultimate version of intimacy; the radical alterations of the body; etc.) that might drive the desire to see an incest story result in impregnation. But for me these kind of pregnancy fantasies so quickly become boring: do people want this deviant incest story to become some sort of lovely little family narrative? Deeply queer impregnations (monster, feral, alien) are interesting to me, but standard pregnancy seems to work against a truly liberated incest.

To the people who crave the whole pregnancy incest thing that much (and complications and realism and the whole shebang), perhaps you could direct them to Vendetta's exquisite ongoing story series, A Bump in the Night?

Not my thing as a rule, but still a captivating series, and for the people for who it is their thing, it could be a good outlet.

Thanks for standing up for your own choices, and lucky me I agree with them :3

To be honest, I'm glad. While I do like some pregnancy art, and I think it can be really sweet if handled the right way, it just doesn't seem right for the tone you've established for this work. It's too sweet and lighthearted, and I'd much rather see you focus on Keri and Devon's relationship, whatever that might turn out to be, and see them end up happy. Which is my own bias speaking, I guess.

Thank goodness.  I've commented before about the incredibly rare and precious sense of mutual love, care, and adoration in the Twincest series.  Sure, it's horribly taboo, and it would weird out most people immediately, but the fun being had by the characters at this point is consequence-free play, based on nurturance, by two people of the same age and ability to consent.  I was actually just reading an article about "sibling sexual abuse" (part of my academic pursuits involve psychology) and in framing the discussion, the authors felt it worth mentioning that brothers and sisters often experiment sexually with one another in a non-abusive context.  It was part of the introduction about "What sibling sexual abuse is NOT."  So, taboo or not, something akin to this actually happens in a way we don't have to feel morally bankrupt for fantasizing about.  Maybe.  At least the argument can be made.

Once pregnancy is introduced into the picture, I feel we'd be abusing these fictional characters for our own perverse pleasure.  (Not mine, but presumably someone's.) That gives me an icky feeling all over.

That is actually something I did know. It helps the mom... oh what was it... something about being relaxing and feeling extra nice while you're under all the stress and cramping pain of pregnancy. If I was pregnant, I'd probably still do it, lol. It'd still weird me out sometimes, though.

They encourage women who are full-term to have unprotected sex because orgasms help the uterus along with starting labor/contractions and semen contains proteins that help ready the cervix for dilation as well.

But I don't see how much fun it could be to have sex while feeling like a swollen hurty tired blimp. D:

Science!

I feel like it would hurt, too, but from personal accounts from my past pregnant friends, they say it did wonders, so I believe it. I guess it's like a massage, if you think about it (long as your gentle; I don't think hardcore bondage or something would be good during pregnancy, lol).
