Pokemon Direct

Alrighty, I guess  I am partially obligated to give some thoughts on the direct due to having so many pokemon characters myself.

Overall it was...fine. I mean, that's about all I can say.

Pokemon Snap doesn't really interest me much. It looks really beautiful, but I found myself quickly getting bored of the original, so I don't really see a reason to get this one.

Diamond and Pearl Remakes
Ahh, the big one. Ahaha...well...I mean...most probably don't know, but I'm a big PMD fan and like it far more than the main series. Humans in pokemon and human aspects in pokemon tend to rub me the wrong way. THAT SAID, it doesn't mean I dislike the main series or anything. Will I get these? ....Eh, sure. I mean, why not. They look charming enough, and I liked the original games overall. So I don't mind it. Also I like Arceus and Palkia a lot, soooo...yay, more of them~

And for the main event...Legends Arceus.
This looks good, but...(always a but), I wish that they went for making the PMD games open world rather than the main series. PMD was always a great fit for it ever since the pokepark games, and it's just something that would work phenomenally with the PMD universe. I feel like making it part of the main series isn't really that great, but most fans like that setting the most (even assuming that my pokemon characters are in it at times) so I get why they would do it. Ultimately the game feels more like a test to see how the open world style thing is perceived rather than a full on change. As far as the starters...I don't like any of them. I've always had the unpopular opinion though and have been hit already for not liking any of the starter choices for Legend outside of FA. But given that they more or less picked my least favorite starter from each of the chosen generations, (except rowlett, I dislike Litten FAR more than it) I am less than excited and already plan to ditch it as soon as I get literally anything else. Which is unfortunate.

Anyway, it's basically that. Everything was alright, nothing spectacular really. Will be nice to see the direction the series takes if Legends does well. Anyway, let me here your thoughts on it all, for those interested~

I'm not really excited for anything they announced. Legends looks like it'll be an empty dumpster fire.

I don't blame you for that assumption haha!
I mean, it isn't like they didn't utterly fail when it came to SwSh afterall.

Depends on your definition of failing. They are easily the absolute worst Pokémon games I ever have run into. And not JUST because of the cut Pokémon.

In terms of design, gameplay and scope.
I guess if you look at it with just sales in mind then it would be considered a success, but it was still a bad game.
And DLC making it better doesn't really fix the issue's that it had.

Completely agree. With the size and success of the Pokemon Company as a whole, these should be titles that far exceed what they're pumping out now. I get that they don't want to alienate older fans, but you kind of can't avoid that when you cut any Pokemon from the games. Hell, I'm fully expecting the remakes and Legends to cut a good portion of the Pokemon. I can't really blame them for Legends, since it is a prequel - but still, if they're having fucking Rowlet, they are probably going to have mixed generations.

I just fear that this game is going to be like the entire wild area, and feel like an empty plain that just have poorly animated Pokemon sliding over the grass like they're doused in KY.

Diamond and pearl was the point i stopped caring about the franchise. So nothing of interest here.

That's a fair stance. Honestly I never really understood all the hype behind gen 4 remakes as they were rather unpopular when they came out at the time.

They weren't bad really haha. I mean, could have been better, but overall I enjoyed the lore that was added. Even if the idea of multiple timelines just made things more confusing. But I'm also a bit sentimental due to the commemorative photo.
