Armello

I got into playing some Armello recently. The characters in the game all had a great aesthetic, was very surprised I had never heard of it, considering I enjoy tabletop rpg's and look into new ones to play occasionally.

Long story short, for the possibly 4-5 people that read this journal, expect some 34  inspired by Armello.

Armello is a fun but not very balanced game. It's great to have for a few sessions with friends every once in a while.

Balancing is definently an issue some games. Everyone can draw the same cards and apply a different strategy which I enjoy, and it's heavily luck based, I feel wits are definently the strongest suit, as you can manipulate the field efficiently, though I've seen some interesting play styles with items and equipment heavy characters

I really enjoy Armello as it originally existed (and thank goodness I still have an installer for that version because I bought it on GOG when they were still selling on GOG and GOG never updated past those early versions anyway).

Some of their later updates were highly questionable though, such as the decision to hide all the beautiful artwork under a layer of fog effects that can't be toggled off. I bought the Steam version so I could get the DLCs, but quickly had it refunded when I saw what a piece of crap they'd turned it into.

I'd be very glad to see some Armello themed artwork here, (especially since you can no longer see any in Armello)

This has peaked my interest, I am playing the more recent version so I am unaware of additional art. Is it possible you can share this in some way?

It's not so much that art was removed per se, as much as that it used to be much much easier to see the fine detail on the gameboard character models because the fog effects on the gameboard weren't so out of control. It's possible that they've dialed the fog back in the time since I bought and returned the Steam copy, as that was a couple years ago.
