It's a sure thing Trump will make history again for all the wrong reasons. Speaker Pelosi has more than enough votes needed to impeach him for the second time. This should include him being banned from ever holding public office again, and stripping him of all taxpayer-funded secret service details.
It's insane Pence still refuses to enact the 25th amendment, even after he's fully aware of insurrectionists setting out to kill him. What I didn't see coming was McConnell's announcement that he's on board and pleased with the impeachment article.
More details are pouring out by the hour of just how far some republicans went to make the capitol siege that much easier for Trump's hillbilly rodeo. People like Cruz and Hawley have killed any chance of self-redemption; they were foolish enough to self-fund off the chaos and it's their turn to burn.
More footage of the carnage was shown last night and seeing it was vomit-inducing. Sources revealed the goons went so far as to urinate and defecate within the capitol. And this whole "blue lives matter" argument got obliterated with Trump's thugs beating the shit out DC patrolmen. Two dead cops so far; one was killed with a fire extinguisher, the other took his own life presumably distraught over the insurgence.
Now several cabinet members who took to safety have tested positive for COVID-19, because some republicans laughed off the idea of wearing a fucking mask. If any of those officials die as a result, prosecute those republicans for negligent homicide. The siege itself was a super-spreader event, for fuck's sake!
As I type this sitting in the comfort of my bedroom and allowing the medical marijuana to work her magic, my main concern now is the next 7 days hopefully won't be our last.
