Short and sweet, on 10/31 I put in my two weeks notice at Domino's, making it clear that 11/15 is going to be my last day with the company (something I should have done 2-3 years ago). I stated numerous reasons why...
* Stress levels through the roof
* Unreasonable demands to speed on delivery runs
* No pay raise or promotion in 6 years
* And most importantly, the low pay
When asked why I mentioned the low pay, I told the manager that in the time I have been with Domino's everything has gone up (food costs, cost of living, delivery charges, gas, etc), tips have gone down making it damn near impossible to make a decent living, not to mention that other delivery businesses pay their drivers higher wages.
Then Monday, I went to my franchise's HR office to start the paperwork to close out my 401k which will be used to cover the down payment for a new car and first month's rent for an apartment. I also had to report the assistant manager for telling me "Get out of my store boy." as I was leaving on a delivery. I had to bite my tongue to not say "Calling me boy is not appropriate for everyone to hear as that is meant to be used in the bedroom." as well as her and a couple of other employees were out behind the store smoking marijuana. The stench was so strong, you could smell it throughout the store, and at least 100' away from the building, and if the company inspectors (O.E.R.) would have come for an inspection, the store would have gotten at best a 1 star rating out of 5 and quite possibly resulting in a store wide piss test. I also told her the reasons stated above for leaving the company with the caviate that due to the low pay, they weren't going to keep drivers for very long as I have seen way to many new drivers quit after 24-48 hours some lasting between 2-3 months before quitting or NCNS, and there is 5 veteran drivers, 4 after my departure.
