for what it's worth, "spic" is considered pretty rude, I think I'd go so far as to say it's a slur. I know English isn't your first language so I'm not judging you for it especially since you're referring to your own vroup lol. but I don't think there's anyone trying to reclaim that one

im sure as hell not trying to tell any of you your business lmao, sorry if it came across that way. only trying to give context in the case you genuinely weren't aware of the history of the word. i'm in full support of anyone using any words they want to self-describe, since i do the exact same thing myself. it robs those words of any negative power that can be weaponized against you and that's great.

I honestly find the word "Latinx" way more offensive, and it's been forced upon us my people who believe that they know better. Latino people, the ones living in Latin America don't care about any of that.
