I personally agree with Mizuhrio when it comes to pinhead not being fitting his character more originated from self harm and rather than personally torturing others he let's the other cenobites do it or puts them in the labyrinth. Freddy makes more sense both from the cub targeting angle and him loving to personally take care of his victims. I don't really see much similarity with Jason though.

Well, the main reason why I like pinhead is because of a few things. Before his change, he was a manipulative, sadistic and cruel, who worked towards his agenda. It wasn't so much about the sadomasochism happening to him, but rather inflicting it upon others.
