Can 2020 Just Not?

Listen, I'm not a professional writer, I don't do it often and I primarily write stuff to pass time/vent things I find particularly sexy, but like... I have NO drive to write right now. At all. I wanna continue with Cody. I wanna write more about Jacob. But holy shit if this year hasn't been one massive joy vacuum. I guess I'll just continue to be a goblin skulking around here until I can string more than an opening paragraph together...

That's the big balancing act I suppose, sometimes you have to wait for the inner motivation to come to you, but sometimes that motivation won't come and you have to create it on your own. One thing I've found helps when I want to write something, but the natural motivation won't come, is to set aside time to write instead of waiting for the motivation to strike and then try my best to just put words down, even if they're bad. A lot of the time, that's all it takes to coax out some motivation to get into that writing zone, and then it's always possible to go back and edit anything I'm not happy with.

Regardless, just know that you'll always have people (like myself) eagerly but patiently awaiting your next story, you're a good writer and it's always a joy to see one of your works pop up!

That what this year has been like for me, too. I was lucky to get some inspiration at the beginning of August, but yeah, most of this year has just been me staring at a page, trying to get something of substance written.
