capcm,konmi, Sad truth of business

(currently offcountry and watch the Tokyo Game Show 2020)

NOTE: this is for Fans who  like ""past games"" or ""game-Mascot"" fan.

for those  who love the game back in the Snes to PS2 days?
im gonna theorise the sad reality of how the Game company it is base on the
years of the product sales and the current state of their business.

here goes my 3 speculation...

1. How the game company surviving?

the japanese game companies, Some can do ONLY games but most long lasting ones...
HAVE to go multi-business, to maintain stablilty.
KONAMI is the example of them taking less interest on the Games due to their OTHER
business make them stable.
Capcom is the Example they willing to go Multi-business but remain Game centred, now
rely on merchandise or other busniess to stay afloat.

2.Why they stay ignorant from the fans?

Both are rely on multi-business, means they "Do Not Care" what games they make or
any Fan Pleading for long awaited properties as long as their other business helps
them more than their games is any profitable.
So..  like megaman, castlevania, etc are just "properties" to them to be used as
keychains to shake till you buy its stuff glued into.

(if this totally BS? Capcom cancelled Megaman legend 3 in 2011 and
in 2020 Megaman Volnutt is now in the mobilegame Megaman X Dive roster despite
fan plead to revive for the past 9 years)

3.My POV of the game company.

I still 50/50 on the companies and now be picky and judgy on the games they make.
as many game they make now are not in the list of games i like.

Now... "" INti-Create"" is my Favourite company games to date, follow by NINTENDO and
any Pixelated IndieGame.

And i dont hope for my favourite game will come and I treat the game companies..
like any ""Marketing produce brand "" to be picked if  any sign of interest.

(if im a fan-boyish? maybe, as i like game base on visual appeal.
im bored on realism & real visual uncanny 3d. or game that
has same gameplay to a low-poly to a tripleA hd3D but more money)

conclusion.
The past ganeration games is not what i see today.
they making fewer and fewer games.
taking too long too focus on triple A 3Dgames.
Focus on long lasting current franchies and new IPs
ignore old past IP due to central workers left.

if this is not your viewpoint of games and remain loyal to them, i dont blame yea.
its up to US and our Wallet to tell what games might satisfy us, not our interest or
complain what they trick us into.

comment me.

i disagree with some of these points

for one capcom haven't mostly gained their money from other sources and have been listening to fan outcries for the return of other games. their games are still what make them the most money, not the products that are affiliated with them

the reason legends 3 was cancelled as we all know is that i was an Inafune lead project that was made without their permission and while they didn't have the money to spend for all of the projects he wanted to make (Rockman online, megaman universe, etc.) and given that rockman X dive is meant to be a celebratory game of the entire franchis e(like megaman Xover but good) it'd make sense to include Volnutt and tron bonne since they've already added MMZ, MMZX, and classic megaman.

for years people have asked capcom to make a new megaman, DMC, horror-centric RE, console-MH, and marvel game. and they delivered on all of them with the only misstep of theirs being MVCI: Megaman 11 was a great return to form without playing the nostalgia 8-bit card again, DMC5 was a fantastic new entry into the series and arguably the best one in the series, rivalled only by DMC3SE, RE7 & 2Remake were great returns to form for the series with 8 looking just as promising. Monster Hunter Gen Ultimate is a great celebration of that series and world being a fantastic entry and the first one on consoles in a long time, also streamlining alot of the issues the series has had without losing the quality.

as for their more obscure titles from the PS2 era as much as i want them to get new entries (especially viewtiful joe) it's likely that's not going to happen for a long time since alot of those were made by Studio Clover, which left capcom to make their won independent studio Platinum Games, and i don't think Kamiya is too keen on collaberating with capcom soon, but not all hope is lost since some of the people who worked at platinum came back to work on RE3Remake.

Also it's possible that they're secretly working on a new legends 3 given that there was some gameplay footage they showed involving the RE Engine that looks suspiciously similar to megaman legends gameplay

some pretty good point. but  a few still stands.
reply your each summery paragraph of yours.

Konami already show sign of  misuse  IP (in pachinko) and games  with no repercussion. im aware
them have multi-busineses.
so.. if a game company have multi-business(even merchs) might treat their game as secondary
business.unless games are their priority. ( i keep on eye on capcom of any changes)

mmlegend3 cancel , i research after inafune resign and many lead face of some company leave
putting most of my target games in opposition
(Btw, im a monster hunter fan)

(my apology im ranting about megaman franchies)
Seeing Volnutt in Xdive is the last straw. they have the power & people to make a cancel game
possible. Megaman was formerly a yearly sequel/ multi spinoff games and it slowdown when
PS3 arrive with high 3d depth.
i dont belive megaman is "kid" character game that make it a kids game.

yes.. i know capcom are procure some of the target games,  but  notice its slow.
again i been wonder How their workforce was doing. knowing they are doing multiple
games in progress. But all concentrate on Triple A level games and current known games?
(if you look at megaman games launch by years, the 90s are a ton-load of it)
(yes i know about how sale work, take time til the customer drop interest the go for another.)
So im curious on why like Nintendo, not refurbish  their old tools on old IPs?
like ""Sonic Mania"""   curiously why not 100% Sega but rely on Cristian Whitehead?
so dumbfounded.
(its like disney & WB lost the abiltiy to draw Mickey and BugsBunny)

i acknowledge cloverstudio. It just about those still alive
I still positive on nintendo for mixing both retro, modern and creativity.
Mario 35-- they willing to downgrade to a retro game. Yes it looks cheap built and it worked.
again why?? the Big N could had go for " Super Mario 128 " into a "FallGuy" game. :)
(might be the pandemic influence, but imagine if not)

lastly, yes i expect one of many things Capcom will do, is totally rely on RE engine on any games.
yes, i have no Problem on RE engine Megaman. Just get their Mickeymouse back in full gamespot already.

(been having internet problems recently, and apologies if i'm just repeating myself)

Konami is a different beast entirely which is partially why i left them out of the points i was making, for them they attempted to abandon gaming and look into other ventures only for it to bite them in the ass

with capcom videogames are still their top priority with things such as adaptations of their games and merchandise of their games being secondary. it makes them money but alot of their developement and efforts go into their games

" my apology im ranting about megaman franchies)
Seeing Volnutt in Xdive is the last straw. they have the power & people to make a cancel game
possible. Megaman was formerly a yearly sequel/ multi spinoff games and it slowdown when

i dont belive megaman is "kid" character game that make it a kids game.

there's still a chance that they will be makign a new legends game. like i said they're clearly workign on some new game in the RE engine that plays almost identically to megaman legends (i wish i could find the article and footage for you but i lost it some months ago). and part of the reason they stopped makign so many megaman games *aside from all their problems with Inafune* is because they oversaturated the market wiht megaman and ended up getting diminishing returns because of it. combining that with the troubles with inafune it makes sense to put a hold on megaman for a while. and i say this as a MASSIVE megaman fan. MEgaman 11 beign whati t was was such a relief and resurrection for me, that combined with DMC5

on a related note i had completely given up any and all hope on there ever beign a new Sakura Wars game from sega after the last game was 10 years ago, let alone one that they'd release to the west, but low and behold. the last htign they were ever featured in before htat was a mobile game. and most of capcom's dead franchises had been in a similar way: the last thing DMC related before 5 and before 4SE was just a pachinko adaptaiton of 4 and MVCI.

also they're still clearly making use of the IP via other means other than the mobile game with te upcoming japan only VR game and what is essentially rockman-maker with the kids dev-kit

Again. Got good point. Thanks.
But i will belive it when any report happen.
For megaman is still hopless unless MM12, X9,or new spin on the MM. Now only hype is Momster Hunter Rise.
Yes. Im expecting capcom that any coming games is RE engine ready and maybe onwards. Hope no excuse to ditch it again for another supeior engine again.

The reason im open this topic is the game of the past is ignored/neglected while todays game is GUNS, Violence, Realism. I sick and tired of them and the Cartoony characters  of old is left behind
Some forum deem cartoony  chracters are equal to kids toons. The newest cartoony games is PS4 "BugSnak". (that will be the next topic summery)

Sakura wars, yea. Sega is really a sad company to make game when  Both YugiNaka and Nights creator left to join Sq-enix to do " Balan Wonderworld".   Sega is the example of a franchies fatigue. More sonics & less of others and ignored.
I hope the Sega Ages game is their experiment games to help tell what games to revive.

Again. You have many good points discussion.
Love to read this. :)
Lets see what Capcom, konami, sega, plan nexts
Knowing im not expecting anything untill my
favourite game come true.
Capcom to RE engine every ips.
Konami more trashing game ideas.
Sega under decisive game picking.

We shall see.

i'm thinking the age of all-guns, all violence, all realism died out quite some time ago back in 2014 or so, with a few exceptions. hell the most popular & successful games for the past 4 years have been all the cartoony(and anime inspired) ones

and Sakura Wars isn't the only thing sega has been reviving to help branch out again, with the return of space channel 5, super monkeyball, yakuza, and PSO2, just to name a few. the only games they still need to show some love and attention is JetSetRadio and NiGHTS

it's likely capcom is gonna make a new proper megaman installment in the future soon so i'm still on the more optimistic side of things with these two companies(capcom & sega)

yes... multiple the multi.  my meaning of company  have many  business under a brand, (branches or other manufactory.)
kamimatsu

except the games still keep only having one and dropping the rest, not understanding that such a thing is pointless without a complete rebrand. for instance, kazaa was rebranded as skype.

I've lost hope for most larger companies that seem to be focused on making endless sequels to games they know are a guarantee will get them sales and too focused on making them extravagant Hollywood-quality with the level of details and realism while often not making the gameplay fun

for the NES/SNES/PS1/PS2 eras of gaming... this is precisely why I've shifted more of my focus to indie games, as they capture the spirit of those older eras and not need a massive budget to create something fun and memorable
terrenski
3 years, 6 months ago
Yup.  Thats what i mean. I wish they still have their old tools that make them known for.
They still think pixel or indie level games are inferior, obsolete, and childish so 3D, realism and mature is the big boy game.

I wish any company can do both triple A and retro level games so that their retro  can be their fast launch with"ChumpChange" cost that keep us entertain while waiting for tripleA launch.

And yes like the great indies games that bring  some neglected gameplay with fresh pixelart and ideas.
I wish we can voice them out demand to make Great Hit gameplay in the past with their own coat of pixels or 3D.  The company can clutch the IPs they want,  but they will missout what make the games great.
GC161

considering how massively successful Sega was in allowing fans to make and officially publish Sonic Mania... and Nintendo allowing fans to create their own levels in Super Mario Maker...

It should be enough of an indication to any large game company to not 100% focus on big-budget games, as cheaper games that are still fun can still rake in profits... and if they don't sell? At least they didn't use a ludicrous amount of money to make it.

I'm still holding out in vain hope for a new Breath of Fire, HD remasters, or just good ports of the old games from Capcom as much as I shouldn't after V: Dragon Quarter and *gags* 6.
terrenski
3 years, 6 months ago
I stop hoping. As again, they dont care cause what they made is already stable. And the people who made BOF are not there with a few dev on dragon Dogma and or Monster hunter Story2.  They drop the RPG devlopment that time after the 6th bof game in mobile. They be careful of not give mix message if they really port BOF to current machines with asuming their will be sequels. :)

Mobile games now fill the cost and sophistication bracket the megamans, et cetera used to.  Which is quite a sad thing to say given their state.
