Laptop Malfunction

So it had to happen eventually.  My laptop has suffered a major malfunction and won't start properly.  Normally I can get into the boot menu, BIOS settings and recovery options, but Windows won't start and the system seems to randomly lock up with a blank screen (this last happened when I was in recovery mode using the command prompt to view log files).

To hazard a guess, it's either a cooling problem or a wiring problem.  The RAM, processor and hard drive all seem to be operational.  I am using a Fujitsu Lifebook, but unfortunately there's very little information on the meaning of the diagnostic lights when the computer is first turned on (the Caps Lock and Scroll Lock lights flash intermittently) although it usually goes to the boot screen shortly after.  Anyone know where I can find the meanings of these sequences, because that will really help?

It means I can't do my work for a while, but will try taking it to the computer repair shop tomorrow and see if they can take a look at it - fingers crossed.  It's annoying and upsetting because I'm realising just how dependent I am on a working and functional computer.

I am writing this journal from my Raspberry Pi - I'm so glad I got it fully configured a few days ago so I can talk from here at least, but I don't have any of my files.
