Diapers are for anybody who wants or needs them regardless of age or any other factor

This is a rant I just made on r/unpopularopinion I may as well share here. 'll just post it as it is.

Full reddit title: Diapers are for anybody who wants or needs them regardless of age or any other factor (yes this includes children), and diaper wearing an usage needs to be de-tsigmatized whether there is a "justification" (such as medical incontinence) or not.

I think my stance is fairly obvious from the title. The fact of the matter is that ti's none of anyone else's business if other people choose to wear diapers. The only remotely even seemingly reasonable argument I've heard against it is the offensive smell. Well that only really applies if it's used for defecation in the first place so when it isn't it's null and void, and it's not really an issue even in that case unless it's indoors and not dealt with swiftly. Even then I think we'd be able to deal with it and adjust very quickly if it were a fact of life.

Another argument against it is the hygiene angle, but I think it's just entirely unfounded. The fact is babies and incontinent people do exist and I've never heard of anyone getting sick from being around them. This may only be an issue if they're so neglectful about changing their diaper that it starts to leak feces, which is an edge-case at best. Plus, we're all around poop fairly often with no ill effects. Basically wash your hands before you eat and it's moot. A lot of this also applies to the smell argument, as well. With it already applying in many cases.

Also, of course this only applies in public. Trying to shame people for what they do in their own homes, or what they allow their children to do in their own homes is ludicrous. Of course with the caveat that nobody is getting hurt, which absolutely is true in this case.

As I said before this applies to kids as well. I think it should be entirely their decision in general when and f to stop using diapers in the first place, but even without that I don't think even the parent should be able to tell their kid not to do wear and use diapers if they are not making it the parent's problem, no matter what. This absolutely applies if the kid is using their own allowance money to buy said diapers, but in general it should be treated like any other request from kids even if that is not the case. So basically if this is the type of money that you'd normally be willing to spend on a kid's "hobbies" there should be no issue

Let's knot forget animals, any animals that wanna wear them and soil themselves to should have every right to do so to.  Am sure there's people out there who put them on their doggies then go for a cuddle so nether of them have to get up to pee.

I agree, I believe that Diapers are no different from boxers or any other form of underwear.
I think the world would be a better place if Diapers were common, I've fantasized multiple times about being a cub again and going to school, where everyone is casually wearing and using Diapers.
