So, about yesterday...
I've always had trouble with my work being misinterpreted, so when it happens it bothers and frustrates me. The pic I posted yesterday led to a lot of people making jokes about it... Whether people actually misread the image or just wanted to ‘make a silly’ isn't the point, what I was hearing was that my work was wrong, which was upsetting.
Not only that, but the jokes made put my sona in a fetish-y situation that I didn’t intend to or want to be in, which made me very uncomfortable. This isn’t meant ot kink shame either, (unless your kink is literally forcing others into uncomfortable situations without their consent, I guess) but the comments and jokes put my character in a place without my consent, which isn’t okay.
Now, I know I can’t stop the world from doing this kinda stuff, Nor do I want to go on some crusade. Heck, I’m not even sure if this is a necessary post. I just want people to know I’m not mad at them specifically, and ask that they be a bit more mindful before unintentionally adding to the pile that might be building on me.
So, if you get an impulse to make a joke about something I’ve posted, maybe stop and think about it a second? You can still make the joke if you wish, but please let me know you’re joking and you read the image right?
