An Important Journal

https://www.furaffinity.net/journal/1972063/

I want people to read this one just because I rarely open up about how I feel regarding some issues.

This one mainly to the complaints of my censoring artwork.

Good points. But being vindictive isn't really the best response in my opinion.

I guess it's either be vindictive or be apathetic, though. Just a lose-lose situation...

I agree but I see that nobody really cares about my opinion they just want to complain, so i'm fed up with being reasonable.

I think theres a lot to be said for being vindictive

It's your work first and foremost.  Freedom of expression means freedom to filter what form that expression takes. Cock has it's place, but no one subject matter can comprise the body of a media. As any artist, you give a gift when you share your talents, so you should be able to choose what's in the package.

I'm pretty sure I didn't watch you for your porn, so I'm not really disappointed about the censoring thing. Drawings rarely do it for me, anymore, anyway.

Well whatever you watched me for I really hope I continue to provide that for you without a problem man. Much thanks.

It wouldn't seem strange if you weren't posting nudes. However, many people treate nudes as porn so it seems contradictory to censor it.

From a sales standpoint it also makes sense.

I know random black boxes seems stupid so if not for a sexual purpose I put images in them to at least make it amusing to see regardless.

As I said in previous journals the owners of such pornography can do as they please, but if someone comes to me for it i'd rather I be paid for it since it's not my focus of skill, or if they become a friend then i'll toss the full picture at them.

Up until reading this, I haven't really understood your censoring of your stuff.

I'd see you post something, see the obvious attitude and sort of "nyah" to it, and just felt that it was beneath you. I hadn't really known how to articulate what I wanted to say to you as far as discouraging doing that.

Now though, I get it. And I wholeheartedly approve.

It's not petty. It's not vindictive. It's your work, your right to do what you want with it, but it isn't even JUST that in the sense of "if he wants to be a dick about it that's his call" because it isn't even you being a dick.

You let people who commission you choose whether they want to share the uncensored, and you share the uncensored versions with people you feel like sharing with. What we are all used to is the artist sharing freely, and the general response is "don't punish your fans because of the few assholes" when someone shares less-than-freely. I've even felt that to be the best way to look at it as well.

But you're not punishing fans. You're not spiting anyone or being vindictive or taking something away from anyone. You are limiting what you show publicly to random person off the street, and you are choosing to only share fully with people who >prove< that they are a fan or a friend and thus warrant your consideration and trust to share fully with them. A fan is someone who deserves your respect and consideration because they have shown respect and consideration to you out of true appreciation for whatever you have provided to them. You are simply choosing not to consider every random person on the net a "fan" and withholding that special extra respect and consideration until a person shows to you that they deserve it.

I stayed on that website far longer than I should have, well beyond the point of it being severely unhealthy, mostly out of a sense of consideration and acknowledgment to my fans. I felt it would be a disrespect for me to disregard them and drop them all without consideration. In reality, anyone who truly appreciated me and what I did, anyone who is really a "fan" and deserving of that kind of special consideration from me, would not be someone who would demand or expect me to subject myself to something I did not want to do.

You do what you are inclined to do. The fans are the ones who respect that, and THOSE are the ones who deserve your respect and consideration in return. Not just every person who happens to be on the internet and wants what you have. I'm only just now learning this, and what you said there really frames the concept pretty well.

Fuck the random internet dregs who do nothing but consume and demand more, more, more. The ones who deserve the respect that anyone should give to their fans are the ones who actually show some measure of respect as a fan. Thanks, dude.

Ah at least you understand haha, I knew you were going to disapprove of it but I wanted to talk to you about it at some point before then just so you know why I do it.

I still think you'd be better off just ignoring people rather than responding rudely in many instances ("go die" when someone says merry xmas for example ^_^;;  ), but I do at least understand the censoring thing better now.

Eeeeeghhh, i'll try my best to behave on that note then...stupid...holidays.

I try to look at things from the perspective that communication should always be taken in the meaning it was intended. Sometimes things can be offensive even if offense wasn't intended, but >usually< it is bad to react harshly when someone didn't mean ill.

If someone wishes you happy holidays and you know they've seen where you specifically asked people not to, then they're either dumb or being an ass, so sure, go ahead and blast them. If you don't know, odds are they're just sending positive happy mushy thoughts your way, so it's usually not cool to stomp on that.

But then that's just my opinion, and we both know how much headache I cause myself by being gentle and tolerant with people who MEAN well but just really are kindof oblivious. ^_^;;

In my case most of them are being assholes, I rarely get them from people who care and if I do it's by messenger from someone who doesn't know. And I do respond kindly to them cause I know they may not know.

But most people still do it on my FA where it's obvious I don't like holidays and I put my foot up their ass like they deserve.

In very short terms, furries are the most self destructive community I've ever encountered. And I regret the fact that respect (and tolerance for that matter) are so scarce in a community that is already being demonized for closet beast rapers (among other things) themselves. I sympathize with you on this subject, though I rarely vent myself because I generally don't care for the furry politics and only have things going on in my real life, which I don't share with almost anyone in this community for the simple reason that it's too personal to be in the hands of such cannibalistic people.

This may be taken wrong so let me say I've encountered a few gems in the mud and those people know who they are. Just keep with the people you like Indigo, keep supporting and being a friend to them, and I'm sure they won't forget about it whatever decisions they may make in the future.

Oh, and I forgot to mention that I started watching you for your sketches more than for your finished work or porn even. I love art in almost all of its forms and have sighed or rolled my eyes many a time when noticing time by time that without a big throbbing phallus present, work almost never gets appreciated on FA. But I kind of expect that from that website, it's just there for fap and unless you're legendary good in drawing non-porn stuff you won't make any mentionable status or a good bucks.

Well thank you Sunkra, I do appreciate people for watching me whatever reasons they may have you know?

As of recently i'm trying my best to focus and find the people who love art just as I do and keep them in the loop with my work so I appreciate your opinion and the advice.

TONS MORE SKETCHES TO COME, also i'll be in touch about drawing something for you. I like your characters design.

Yay more sketches!
And that would be a lovely surprise. :)
