Computer Issues...

Yo. A big reason I have been "slacking" with commissions (aside for the Puddle YCHs) this month is because of a never-ending string of computer issues, failures, and gremlins, starting with a failing data hard drive, and a blown graphics card (GeForce 780 GTX: blow out your fans!!!).
After getting those parts replaces, more things happened. While the Windows Operating System has been rendered MORE stable with time and fixes, my computer is now experiencing a black-screen restart about once a day. Audio and video stutters and pauses for about 5 seconds, both monitors go black, then five seconds later, power goes off. 5-10 seconds later, the computer restarts. With help, we have narrowed it down to either the brand new graphics card (An MSI NVidia GeForce 1660 GTX Super) or the two-year old power supply. (A Corsair CX750M) This final issue has started happening ONCE the GPU was installed, so I am about 90% certain it's that and not the power supply...

There was also the week of migraines, but if the computer has been suffering this much since like mid-May, it's kind of difficult to work.

have you tested the PSU on other computers?

Also did you uninstall all the old video drivers before you put in the new ones?

PSU has not yet been tested on other machines as I do not have a backup to test that is compatible with the GPU. I will be able to make that test on Thursday when my wife's computer will be free (as she will be at work), by swapping GPUs with her machine. If my computer black-screen reboots, it's the PSU. If hers does, it's the GPU.

All the old video drivers were cleaned out before they were installed fresh.
Hard drive and solid state drive tests came out clean.
Memory test was clean.
We don't suspect it's the CPU or motherboard.

well hopefully it's the PSU, they are much cheaper to replace than a GPU

*I* hope it's the GPU because I can get it replaced under warranty for no/minimal charge!

It's the PSU. We found out a couple days ago when we traded GPUs with my wife's computer. Fortunatelty, it, too, is still under warranty. Just waiting to hear back from Corsair...
