so far i've recovered about 2/3 of the cost of the computer i bought (the one im waiting on~)
-if you wanna help me fully recoup the cost, i'd appreciate if you'd consider maybe making a bid on one of my current auctions or some other way to help give me money XD https://triple-fictionproductions.net/#indexImage22 (< has some options =T)

...welp. i guess im gonna doodle some stuff and maybe i'll be able to scan it and post that stuff =P
maybe get a jump on the next comic, i dont know XD got lots of time on my hands now...

update 1: well after afew hours of diagnosing. the hard drive is fine supposely. but wow, this computer does NOT wanna boot up at all. having attempting to repair or circumvent problem in many ways, and it just dont! =l so yeah... atleast the hard drive is okay, i'll find out for sure tomorrow.

everyone press F to pay respects to the dead computer. For years, it did it's job, and eventually gave its life in the line of duty for art.

it only did its job well for like 1.5 years, and that started falling apart ~__~; for 900$ it sure didnt fucking last long...

can you repair it? which part died?

its likely the power unit being a cheap as default one that has caused all of this to happen. but so far it has killed:
5 mice, 1 keyboard, 1 6 socket USB hub in back of it, 2 GPU's, and now some thing that made it impossible to get passed the windows logo XD so maybe hard drive or processor is dead now.

*oh and for a while, it would NOT stay in sleep mode, randomly waking itself up at night and seeming doing things! =l even though it was not connected to internet even... was spooky...

yeah that sounds bad. with power units its important to replace them at the first sign of trouble, otherwise they start frying much more expensive components.
on the other hand, there's a chance the components are still good. If the voltages are unstable or too low, the computer won't boot either, even if the actual components are still good.
do you have a replacement power unit you could test?
kitsuneyoukai

well it killed for sure the mice and the GPU's. i put them in other computers and they did NOTHING! =l
i dont think i have a power unit to swap out. also it is so wired in there i dont know how long it'd take to make it work again XD seems way too daunting to try~

If it shows the Windows logo then it's not dead. I had a total Windows failure on my gaming PC some months back where I couldn't find a software issue so I took it to the shop. It turned out that the power wire to the hard drive was just slightly loose, so the power would cut sporadically for a fraction of a second, which was enough to corrupt Windows for good and required a total reinstall. I would suggest checking all the internal wires of your machine before giving up on it. And just switching out the PSU before investing in a completely new machine, since it sounds like there's nothing wrong with the overall hardware if the motherboard boots all the way to the OS level.

Yikes that is a real short time for a modern computer... Sorry to hear that... :( Hope the next one is better than this!

$900?!!  For something that only lasted a year and a half?!!  Dude, you got ripped off!!!

To put it in some perspective, I'm using a laptop that I bought 3 1/2 years ago that I purchased from a Best Buy for $300.  Granted, I probably don't do some of the things you do with your computers, but it still seems like your computer should've lasted longer than it did.

Anyway, I hope that you're able to get on your feet again soon.  You know that I will be waiting for your return. ;3

Uhh, I have never even heard of that power supply manufacture before and it even looks sketchy to be used in a computer. WTF Cyberpower. >.< Also... AMD FX processors were discontinued over a year before you got that system. AMD Ryzen was at gen 2 at that point too. >.<; So... Yeah, that system was a total ripoff. >.>

I got a custom pc a while back through DigitalStorm. It took them a month to get the thing together, test everything, and finally ship it out. But it was pretty worth it.

well i ordered on the 6th, and the started to gather on the 7th. so about 20 days or so i guess? =T lol

That's not too bad. With most companies that do custom PCs, most of the time is taken up by stress-testing and benchmarking, and making sure all the components work together correctly. Just be aware that there may be some factory defects on some parts that won't show up till later. Mine had a faulty SSD that died after about a month. Thankfully I just had to send it back and they shipped me a new one at no cost. Unfortunately, it had my OS on it, so I had to use the recovery flash drive, but it didn't have all the system tweaks they did to the original. Still runs fine though.

I wonder if it has to do with the weather warming up or something. My computer died like 3 weeks ago and my power strip died yesterday.

eh, maybe, but this thing has been acting up and getting worse for years.

Looking at that parts list you showed, I wouldn't be surprised if you're right & it was that bullshit PSU. If buying pre-builds I'd at least swap out the PSU, you always get a pile of shit (at least from what I've seen personally). I'd honestly go for a MINIMUM of an 80 Plus Bronze certified unit. Out of curiosity, do you have the parts list for the new one you ordered? I've been building computers for 14 years & enjoy looking at this kinda stuff. >3>

Sincerely hoping it doesn't take them too much longer to ship it out to you. That's one helluva wait. </3

Sweet! That's a much better looking system than the last one. The GPU is for sure the weakest link, but by all means not a bad card. If AAA gaming's not a priority then who cares? :D
