I will NEVER be buying this game. Between the DRM, the online connectivity required for offline single player gaming, and the insane microtransaction and IRL cash-based auction house... Why Sen? Why did you buy Diablo 3? The only way to convince companies like Blizzard to release quality products is to not buy their bad ones...

No, I'm a realist. I've seen IP after IP mishandled, butchered, or purchased for the sake of removing it from production. I've had every sequel I yearned for turn out to be unmitigated crap. I've watched as quality studios began the not-so-slow decline into making shovelware and "sequel franchises". But worst of all, I've seen the most versatile and capable gaming platform - the PC - reduced to playing dumbed-down games at only a fraction of the possible fidelity, with gods-awful controls and a UI which makes me want to vomit, all because publishers insist on cross-compatibility with every possible platform. Could-Be Would-Be Should-Be awesome titles are castrated in features, function, and content, all so that they can sell it on the XBox, PS3, or (more often than not) the fucking iPhone. And for those few, very very few titles that go exclusive to the PC or one particular console so that they can maximize the features and performance, we run into other problems, most notably DRM and the piecemeal-sale of the product through endless waves of worthless DLC.
No, Sen. I am not a pessimist. I am an optimist who has been beaten down into the dirt by so many bad products that I simply gave up the fight. Indeed, I've pretty much given up on digital gaming, and have been moving back into boardgames and pen/paper RPGs / tabletop wargames. PC gaming has gotten SO BAD that it has driven me to seek my enjoyment elsewhere.

I don't know what problem you have. There are much more games I would like to play, than I have time for. Games I enjoy and that are made well.
Portal 2 has had the map maker come out. I wanna play with this some more. Binding of Isaac has not lost appeal yet. I got Sanctum very cheap and I enjoy the game a lot. Team Fortress 2 and Left 4 Dead 2 also have me coming back again and again (almost 500 hours played in TF2 ;3)
I have half a dozen of games lying around, some of them not even started yet because I don't have enough free time to play them all. And I have refrained from buying a lot of games cause I know I have no time and not because I wouldn't like them.

I'll agree with the DRM requirement on Diablo III being a bit harsh, but consider this. You've played Diablo II. How many black market sites and companies were there selling items for real cash? Probably lots. Blizzard is doing the RMAH as a salvo against such black market operations by doing the real money merchandising themselves. I applaud them for the efforts to eliminate black market trading, but what I do not agree with is the mobile phone requirement for cashing out of the RMAH. I've drawn my line there. If Blizzard retracts this requirement, I'll buy the game. If not, they will likely never see another dime of mine.

The terrorists aren't going to give up, and rather than beef up security and waste all sorts of time trying to stay ahead of their inventiveness and determination, let's just try to make money off of it. We'll charge suicide bombers for a seat on the plane, and then we'll tack on a per-bomb charge so that at least we can offset the cost of lost planes through fees and charges. Oh sure, it will piss off a few of the legitimate flyers, but that's fine. We'll already have been paid for their seats, and a couple lost customers won't matter.
