About the situation with iSart

First of all, I'm sorry for my English.

Hi, if you're reading this journal, is because you've read iSart's journal. So I'm here to explain why you see me as the ultimate evil.
Yes, it's true. I didn't ask iSart's permission to color its drawing and upload it, but in my heart, I didn't think it was necessary. Since Valdis was the commissioner of the drawing, but I was wrong.
Mine was a (I don't know how translate it) in good faith, honest mistake. But from Valdis, too. In fact, he told me, "I should have asked first as well".
As you're reading this journal, I've already sent a message/letter of apology to iSart. With the same... more or less, the same words.

Don't get me wrong, I'm a good guy 24 years-old jobless. If there's one thing I've learned, a voice is like a plague. Arrive everywhere. And like a plague, it destroy things and people.

[Update of 1 June]
I don't know.
...
I don't know what to do.
Despite the situation with iSart was clarified and friends again, the problem of the almost 300 people who saw that journal remains.
Already there aren't many people who commission coloring of a drawing, but after what happened with iSart... I don't know.
Some will say, "think positive", "the situation will work itself out", etc.
But as I said earlier, the problem of the almost 300 people who saw that journal remains.

You're good, Ratchet. Owning up to a mistake, learning from it and making things right is the best way forward.  I hope your situation improves and you make a good start to your coloring commission work with the right permissions. It's okay to be new at something, too. We all start somewhere! :3

I think it all just comes down to a communication. As a fellow colourist you just need to make sure you get permission and give credits. Keep up your work mate.

I don't see any problem with the situation. Valdis owns the art piece in question. He paid for it.
As the owner. He should have every right to ask or even pay who ever he wants, to color it for him...

Art can be physical property (a print, a painting) you own outright. But media and intellectual properties (art, photos, stories) have added protections, which is why copyright over the image / original remains with the creator unless they sign that over to the buyer. For example, when you pay a studio for wedding or class photos, you do own the prints and digital copies, but copyright stays with the studio, which is why they can legally use that same image for promotions, portfolios, web stuff.  This situation was not that formal, but an artist does retain rights beyond simple credit unless they waive them.  Legal stuff aside, seeking permission is also a professional courtesy that helps protect all parties from misunderstandings. Most coloring artists only accept a commission from the person who drew the art or with permission. Even if the commission conditions are informal ("please don't alter / repost without permission"), the artist maintains a valid claim. I should have asked, but didn't think it through. We're good now, though.

You could also just learn how to draw instead of fishing for people's uncoloured works. Smh. Flat colour takes no skill at all.

I could, but my dyslexia makes things difficult :)
