Or is Rick And Morty taking a dip for the worse with the Meta episodes? Between the latest one and the one where they "criticize" heist movies, i feel like it doesn't have the spark that it used to have

Everyone and everything experiences burnout at some point.
Maybe it's just their time. They HAVE been on top for quite a while so it's probably due.

I admit I haven't watched them in quite a while so I can't say one way or another
but judging from other shows I DO watch ya...it's gonna happen. Sooner or later.

That could be it. I noticed the quality dipped a lot in this latest season. Not every episode mind you, just the failed meta commentary ones. It seems like they were trying to jump into the meta commentary bandwagon and failed miserably
