Upcoming Life Things

So it's been slow trying to get work done but I'm slowly finishing commissions as much as I can.

But I have a pretty big thing to make a note of here- I'll be moving soon! My first and only move so far, out into the world on my own with my bf. Not really "on my own" but you know lmao
But I figured I'd make a post about it because I'll probably be without my own internet for a while until we can get all the things sorted out. EDIT: I should have mentioned I'm literally moving probably like next Monday. (Around May 4th)

This also means no streams for a while. I'll leave a link here for it, regardless. I stopped posting "Going Live" notifications after I had someone complain about a title discrepancy so to avoid any problems in the future I only announce on Twitter and Discord. Twitch: https://www.twitch.tv/queenkami

My last thing, does anyone have any pointers/tips for new people moving out? Anything I should keep in mind or buy before leaving this house? We're not moving too terribly far from my parent's house so if needed I can always borrow items and can move items from one place to another without needing to hire anyone or anything but is there anything you would tell someone who has no experience with moving?

I do have some pointers for moving! Get plenty of boxes and packing material, and make sure to keep anything glass, ceramic or the front of monitors or tvs or other displays well protected. Depending on what's in your computer if you have a tower PC, stuff the inside of it with anti-static bubble wrap (usually coloured pink) to stop weighty components from damaging the computer during transit. And make sure you lift with your legs and keep your back straight if lifting and carrying anything heavy.

I also personally keep cables for devices packed together with the devices that use them rather than packing up cables individually, so unplug things and pack the cables as you go.

Good luck with your move!

That's all pretty good, I wouldn't have thought about putting something in my PC to keep it safe inside! I think MOST of that sort of stuff will be fine because it will be mostly like, on-foot moving, though it's never a bad idea to be too safe!

I, luckily, still have most boxes for electronics that I've purchased, like gaming consoles, my CD drive, headphones, speakers, etc, but I will for sure be trying to keep cables with their respective items. I'm really bad at losing them lmao

Yeah get lots of boxes... you could get some from usps prority and just box that. I used to get from liquor stores but idk if they would with the virus?

Strap in that pc :D i belt beckled mine in and a blanket around it lol.

Definalty right on ever side what the box is. If you can try to seperate your loads depending how far.

A bed , washing machine / dryer unless you go to parents for that/ can haul yourselves.

Maybe a spread sheet online so can make a check list of things packed.

Ohh, yes, I've been making out a small check list for items that we'll need to get for our self, from simple things like bathroom items like q-tips, towels, and stuff like silverwares. We're moving from my parent's house so we shouldn't have TOO much that can get left behind (mostly because we just live out of one room, with a couple things in the basement) but a checklist for easy-to-miss things is a wonderful idea. Thanks for that!

On the PC, I think I still have the original box it came in so I can at least kinda pack it back in there.

as person said below make sure get you a microwave lol. Not sure if got stove or not. Hmmm oh and a can opener.

I'd make a list ok we use seasoning or these condiments,  if drinks or drink mixes .

Do some research for your internet if you can some places have multiple providers. Up to you if need sat tv or just hook up a pc to tv, cast from phones or get a firestick etc type device. I use a older laptop to just stream it runs alot smoother then Sling on our roku tv which crashes alot.

I'm probably mostly going to go with what my parents currently have and see if we can do it just sans TV stuff cause we don't really watch Tv, only really Youtube, Twitch, Netflix, etc. I THINK there's a microwave still in, the stove should be staying where it is so we'll have that as well.

You're going to put something somewhere and you're never going to find it when you need it. I moved a few years ago and I'm still running into that problem, lol. But right after the move especially, you're never going to be able to find what you need.

Prepare yourself for that. :X

LMAO I'm dealing with that NOW and I've lived here all my life, I can't imagine how bad I'm going to get when we move xD

That's a good point of info, though, tbh!

We'll probably jack some from home when we go-I can also get some fairly easily at work so no worries there lmao But for sure, we have food and jobs still so we'll be in town often.

We're moving to a place down the hill from our place now, nothing too huge! It's a rather small house but it's bigger than our single room!

Ohh, true. I don't like coffee, neither does my bf, but it might be worth having one either way. Microwave for sure, if they didn't leave the one there. They were leaving us some of the appliances but not sure what.

lmao I DO like mocha and sweet caramel coffees, but not very often...so I guess that was MOSTLY a lie ;D lol

Not sure on the net, depends on what we can afford. My parents make well enough money that its not a problem for them to have a higher net bandwidth. We'll see what happens!
