Voice Loss Update 2

Well, I had my CAT scans this morning. After going through a background check that would have done the CIA proud, I was allowed into the hospital. I was called into the back where the CAT scan room is located. I had to wait over an hour due to the fact that the hospital wanted to inject dye and my insurance hadn't approved that. After receiving approval, I was ushered into the CAT scan room and, after inserting the IV, I had to endure being scanned 3 times. But, it really wasn't a problem except for the heat I felt in the back of my neck, my arms and my crotch. In about an hour, I was through and on my way home.

At 2:40 pm EDT, I returned to the hospital and my ENT's office. After going through another background check, the doctor came into the room and the first words out of his mouth were, "Well, the scan of your head didn't find anything." I smiled and said, "That's my line." He continued saying, "That your chest and neck didn't show any tumors either. However, we did find a small, benign cyst on your thyroid. It was so small I almost didn't see it." He went on to say that the cyst wasn't the cause of my voice loss and that since it wasn't a tumor causing my problem there's only one thing left it could be. I said, "A virus." He nodded and said, "Yes. A virus." He also said that the type of virus that could affect a nerve usually goes away after a year to 14 months. So, I'll be semi-voiceless until November at the earliest. I'm sure a lot of people I know will be happy to learn that. LOL.

Yeah.  It could have been cancer requiring surgery to remove and then chemo and/or radiation therapy.  So, I'm not complaining.  I've dealt with this voice thing since last November, I can deal with it until next November.

Sort of like my back.
Every 4-5 years it decides, "Fuck you, you gonna walk on your hands and knees for a week."

Glad it's nothing major.

I can relate to that, too.  Currently, I'm under chiropractic care due to someone throwing my back out and being unable to sleep for more than 1 - 2 hours at a time.

Yuppers, anywhere from 2-4 hours and my back wakes me up. "Get out bed asshole."
So I get up, find something to drink and read email, surf Ink Bunny etc for an hour or so.
Then go back to bed for the next 2-3 hours.

Someone?  I can't believe I said "someone".  I meant somehow.  Duh-uh.  LOL.

I know how you feel when your back gives you problems.  All I want to do is sleep but my back says, "Try it.  I'll show you who's boss."
